Milton CAT Named Title Sponsor of Expanded Outlaw 200 Weekend

By Dave Medler
Baldwinsville, NY (March 3, 2023) – Milton CAT, the Northeast’s dealer of Caterpillar Equipment, has signed on as the title sponsor of the 37th running of the annual Outlaw 200 Weekend at Fulton Speedway in 2023. The event has expanded to a three-day event, adding a full night of racing on Thursday, September 28 to this prestigious event.

The IMCA STARS Mod Lite East Coast Nationals anchors the new Thursday night program that will also feature Milton CAT Outlaw Weekend Championship events for Hobby Stocks, Four Cylinders and Novice Sportsman.

The winged warriors of the Empire Super Sprints will join the Milton CAT Outlaw Weekend for the first time as the headline class of the Friday night portion. Heats and consolations for the Industrial Tire of CNY Sportsman Shootout and four Milton CAT Outlaw 200 qualifiers for Modifieds will also be on tap.

The Saturday Milton CAT Outlaw 200 qualifying format will remain unchanged. Heats, Consolations, Last Chance Showdown and the $20,000-to-win 200-lap Milton CAT Outlaw 200 will be joined by last chance showdowns and the 50-lap Industrial Tire of CNY Sportsman shootout.

New this year, the Milton CAT Outlaw 200 returns to its roots, as a 358-Modified event. A series of qualifying events have been established for the Milton CAT Outlaw 200 at several 358-Modified tracks. Drivers can earn guaranteed starting spots for the 37th Milton CAT Outlaw 200 at these events:

Date Track
Saturday, May 27 Brockville (Ont.) Speedway
Sunday, May 28 Glen Ridge Motorsports Park
Wednesday, June 28 Can-Am Speedway
Saturday, July 29 Weedsport Speedway
Saturday, August 5 Airborne Speedway
Saturday, September 16 Autodrome Drummond
Friday, September 22 Albany-Saratoga Speedway
Friday, September 25 Ransomville Speedway

“We are thrilled to welcome Milton CAT on board one of the Northeast’s most prestigious modified events,” said Cory Reed, Fulton Speedway GM, “The racing community is one large network of hands-on operators and mechanics so it’s a natural fit.”

ABOUT MILTON CAT

A privately-held company, Milton CAT is owned by the Milton family. Dealer principal and CEO Chris Milton, is the third generation Milton to be at the helm of a Caterpillar dealership. Chris Milton's father, Jack, learned the ropes under his father, Milt Milton, at former Massachusetts CAT dealership Perkins-Milton. In 1960, Jack Milton and partner Bill Jordan founded Jordan-Milton Machinery and represented Caterpillar equipment and engines in New Hampshire and Vermont, expanding into Maine with the acquisition of Arnold Machinery Company in 1982. In 1991, Jordan-Milton acquired Southworth Machinery and the company name became Southworth-Milton. That name was changed to Milton CAT shortly after the company expanded its territory into western New York with the acquisition of bordering CAT dealership Syracuse Supply Company in 2004.

Today, the company's products and technology can be found in logging camps and nuclear facilities; dairy farms, US Army Defense installations, hospitals, lobster boats and underground salt mines; solid waste landfills, data centers, paving projects and ferries; commuter rail trains, quarries, school buses and of course, job sites of all sizes.

Milton CAT is your complete source for Caterpillar machines, engines, generators, technology, parts and service in the Northeast. You can always count on Milton CAT for the industry knowledge, the products and the support that have made our dealership the choice of leading business owners in this demanding region of our country. As your complete source for Caterpillar machines, engines, generators, technology, parts, and service in the Northeast, Milton CAT has locations strategically placed, from Bangor to Batavia and from Syracuse to Scarborough.

Fulton Speedway will open for the season on Saturday, April 22 with open practice from 2-4 pm. Then on Friday and Saturday, April 28 and 29, the Speedway will host the season opening Highbank Holdup Weekend.

Brewerton Speedway, central New York’s Friday night home for DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds, roars back to life on Friday, May 5 for a full season of action featuring Tracey Road Equipment Modifieds, Dot Foods Sportsman, AmeriCU Mod Lites and the Mirabito 4-Cylinder Superstocks.

The complete 2023 Fulton and Brewerton Speedway schedules can be found on their respective websites. Sponsorship and advertising opportunities are available for each track. Call (315) 638-4056 or email cory@brewertonspeedway.com. for more information.
