Inside Line Promotions – MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (Oct. 1, 2018) – Jason Sides is aiming for his third career podium finish at Fulton Speedway when the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series visits the oval in Fulton, N.Y., this Saturday.

Sides recorded a third-place result during his debut at the track in 2005 and he garnered a career-best second-place finish in 2010. He also has results of 10th in 2014, 17th in 2016 and 12th last year.

“We want to get back to how we raced there the first couple of times,” he said. “It’s been a solid track for us. We know we need to qualify well to set ourselves up for a successful night. The last two years it seems like it’s been wet and heavy. Hopefully the weather holds out and we can get a racy track all night.”

Qualifying put Sides behind the eight ball last weekend during the Champion Racing Oil National Open at Williams Grove Speedway. Sides timed in 12th quickest in his group on Friday. He then finished where he started – fourth – in a heat race to miss locking into the A Main. A ninth-place result in the Last Chance Showdown was only three positions shy of scoring a transfer.

“In qualifying I felt like I was pretty good, but it wasn’t good enough,” he said. “The motor ran good, but guys were setting almost record-breaking times. There was no passing as fast as it was, as wet as it was, as narrow as it was. Even the guys that were really good struggled around other cars. The guys who were out front were really good, but when they got behind someone they struggled. So if you didn’t qualify in the top few spots and had to start midpack in a heat race or C Main or B Main it was tough to make anything happen.”

The weekend concluded on Saturday with Sides qualifying 17th quickest in his group. He was credited with a seventh-place outing in a heat race before he elected not to start the C Main.

QUICK RESULTS –

Sept. 28 – Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa. – Qualifying: 12; Heat race: 4 (4); B Main: 9 (6).

Sept. 29 – Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa. – Qualifying: 17; Heat race: 7 (6); C Main: DNS (4).
