Inside Line Promotions – CLAY, N.Y. (April 23, 2019) – Wet weather has delayed the start of the season on multiple occasions for Joe Trenca, who will attempt to kick off the 2019 season this weekend if Mother Nature allows.

“We’ve been busting butt all winter to get prepared and be ready,” he said. “We were going to run the first weekend in April in the 410, but the weather was still really bad. I was looking forward to getting back to one of my favorite tracks last week, but we’re waiting on rain still. It seems to be the story the last couple of years.”

The Mucci Motorsports driver has races scheduled this Friday at Fulton Speedway in Fulton, N.Y., with the Empire Super Sprints and Saturday at Land of Legends Raceway in Canandaigua, N.Y., with the Patriot Sprint Tour.

“Hopefully the weather holds off and we get some racing in this weekend,’ he said. “Both races are nice and close to home. It’ll be great to get the car out and run some laps.”

Trenca’s career-best finish of fifth place at Fulton Speedway came in 2016. He has three top 10s during his career at the track.

Trenca earned his first career top 10 in a 360ci winged sprint car at Land of Legends Raceway in 2013. It was one of five career top 10s – two of which came last year, including his career-best result of sixth place.

“We’ve struggled at Land of Legends Raceway, but last year we found something,” he said. “We’ve done some different things with shocks and wings this year. I think we’ll be good. We just want to go out and have fun racing.”
