Sides Heading to Port Royal, Weedsport and Ransomville This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – FULTON, N.Y. (Oct. 10, 2017) – Jason Sides has a World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series tripleheader in the Northeast on deck this weekend.

Sides will compete on Saturday at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa., for the Nittany Showdown; on Sunday at Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, N.Y., for the Empire State Challenge; and on Monday at Ransomville Speedway in Ransomville, N.Y., for The Big “R” Outlaw Shootout.

“Hopefully the weather cooperates and we can come out of this weekend with three strong results,” he said. “I’m looking forward to going to Port Royal after all the changes they’ve made. Weedsport is really nice and they were supposed to make some small changes to Ransomville so it should be a fun weekend.”

Sides has posted a top-10 finish at Port Royal Speedway and at Weedsport with the World of Outlaws, which is making its first official trip to Ransomville Speedway since 1997. The originally scheduled date this summer was rained out.

Sides competed last Saturday at Fulton Speedway, where he qualified seventh quickest to open the night. A fourth-place result in a heat race lined him up 10th for the A Main.

“We went forward and back, forward and back,” he said. “We got to eighth at one point. I went to the outside on a restart and lost a few spots. The furthest up we got was seventh. The last restart I was on the outside and got hung up out there. It was really slick on the restarts on the outside of turn four so the bottom took off a lot better.”

Sides finished 12th and he remains 10th in the championship standings.
