Inside Line Promotions – FULTON, N.Y. (June 7, 2016) – Joe Trenca captured his first top-five finish of the season last Saturday at Fulton Speedway.

The Mucci Motorsports team elected to tackle the Patriot Sprint Tour event because of inclement weather in Pennsylvania, where Trenca had planned on racing last weekend.

The night began with Trenca advancing from third to win a heat race, which locked him into the feature redraw.

“The polesitter jumped the start so they moved me up to the front row and I led the whole race,” he said.

Trenca pulled the No. 6 during the random redraw to start the main event on the outside of the third row.

“We were a little tight early,” he said. “We fell back to eighth or ninth. We had a caution with about 15 laps to go and I noticed everyone had their wings in the trunk and I hadn’t moved mine back yet. After that we started picking them off and we ended up getting fifth on the last lap.”

Trenca’s last-lap pass earned him a fifth-place result. He registered his first top 10 of the season during the previous race.

“I was happy with it,” he said. “We have a little momentum rolling.”

Trenca will take this weekend off before returning to competition on June 18 at Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pa.
