The possibly about the Crate Late Models racing at both tracks during the 2010 season has been talked about now for months. The official announcement confirms the rumors that the Crate Late Models will indeed be a weekly class at both Oswego County tracks under the ownership of John and Laura Wight. Michael Storms’ disappointment turned into a victory for Billy Decker Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway. Storms led the race by well over a straightaway and seemed headed for his first ever 35 lap Big Block Modified win on the High Banks. As the race reached the final laps Storms tires seemed to go away as Decker ran him down and made the pass for the win with just 2 laps to go. Sheppard started sixteenth on the grid and took the lead after an incredible 4-wide battle for the top spot on lap 18. The victory was nothing short of a miracle for Sheppard, as his No. 9 Extreme Lubricants Bicknell was severely overheating in victory lane and the rear end was glowing cherry red during the later stages of the event. Saturday night at Fulton Speedway, Billy Decker started seventeenth and took advantage of front running Vinnie Vitale and second place Larry Wight making contact exiting turn two on lap-22 of the 35-lap Big Block Modifed feature. Decker saw an opening on the bottom of the speedway and blasted by the top-two into the race lead. From there Decker went unchallenged picking up win number three of the year at Fulton Speedway. On Little League/Softball night on Saturday at Fulton Speedway, Pat Ward erased the heartbreak of seeing victory slip away the week before as Ward collected the $2,000 35-lap DIRTcar Big Block Modified feature. Ward grabbed the lead from Shawn Donath on lap-5, from there the Genoa driver survived a late yellow and teammate Billy Decker to pick up the popular victory, his first of the season at the speedway. John Pietrowicz made it two in a row in the 20-lap DIRTcar Sportsman main.
