Fulton Test and Tune huge success for some, not so much for others

Fulton, NY (Saturday April 19th) – For some the test and tune session at Fulton on Saturday was a success, for Sammy Reakes III it wasn’t so good.

Reakes was involved in an automobile accident with his truck and hauler while turning into the speedway grounds. An unknown female driver of a vehicle heading South on County Rt 57, lost control and ran into the Reakes truck. Nobody in the Reakes vehicle was hurt, but the other driver was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fulton, with unknown injuries.

As for activities on the race track, nine Sportsman, five Rookie Crate Sportsman, five Big Blocks and three 358 along with some 4 Cylinders all took advantage of the great weather mother Nature provided.

As for fast times, Kyle Lewis, Jordan Bennett, Bob Bennett and Sammy Reakes showed the quick way around the big high bank 3/8ths oval.

“The time we had on the track was much better than the way the day started,” Sammy Reakes said.

Jordan and dad Bob were pretty happy with their effort, “It was dusty, but it didn’t bother the feel or the reaction of the car. It’s really so hard to tell with these test sessions, but right now the car feels good,” Bob said.

As things wound down, one thing was for certain the driver’s, fans and the facility are ready to go racing.

Racing at Fulton gets under way this Saturday night (April 26) with Pit Gates opening at 5pm and racing going green at 7 sharp.
