FULTON, NY – Pete Stefanski of Wheatfield successfully defended his Leaf Racewear Pro Stock Victoria Championship on Friday night September 29 at Fulton Speedway to kickoff the 21st Annual Victoria 200 Weekend. Meanwhile, the 2007 Motorsports Expo Sportsman Victoria Championship and Top Stitch Custom Embroidery Pure Stock Victoria Championships were rain-delayed to Saturday at noon.
Pete Stefanski started in tenth and won this third career Leaf Racewear Pro Stock Victoria Championship 30-lap event. Stefanski took the lead from Clayton Benedict on lap 7 and led the remainder of the distance. Benedict had to settle for second, while Allen Peters was third, track regular Bob Buono was fourth, and Chris Mackey was fifth. Mackey led the opening lap with Benedict taking command on lap 2.
Russ Hefti of Jordan paced the first four laps of the DIRT Sportsman main until a huge pileup in the second turn involving 10 cars brought out the red flag. All drivers were uninjured, but several were done for the night. During the delay, lake effect rain showers began falling and failed to stop, postponing the completion of the Sportsman feature and also the Pure Stock feature until Noon on Saturday. Rain checks from Friday night will be honored ONLY on Saturday for the postponed features from Friday night.
Defending Champion Frank Burnell Jr. will start on the front row with Dan Hofmann Sr. on the outside in the 25-lap Top Stitch Custom Embroidery Pure Stock Victoria Championship event, which will be run after the Sportsman feature.
The pit and grandstands will open on Saturday morning at 10am, with hot laps at 11:30. Racing, beginning with lap 5 of the 30-lap Sportsman feature will begin at Noon, followed by the complete Pure Stock 25-lap feature. The entire pits and grandstands will be cleared out after the Sportsman and Pure Stock features. Then, the complete Victoria 200 program for Modifieds will be run, and the Victoria 200 schedule will be subject to change depending on weather related issues.

The 50/50 drawing from Friday night will be held Saturday following the Sportsman feature. 169 cars were in competition on Friday night with over 45 Modifieds in the pit area.
