Qualifier winner Scott Prentice. |
FULTON, NY...Scott Prentice claimed the
victory in the 25-lap DIRT Big Block Modified Victoria 200 All Star
Qualifier last Saturday at Fulton Speedway on Fernandez Auto Mall
Night. With the victory Prentice now has a spot, if needed, in the
Victoria 200 All Star Race which is the final chance to qualify for
the 21st Annual $20,000 to win Victoria 200 on Saturday, September
30.
Prentice jumped out to the early
lead at the start of the Fernandez Auto Mall DIRT Big Block Modified
feature race from the pole starting position. Steve Hulsizer took
the top spot away from Prentice on lap two. Hulsizer would lead the
field through the fourth circuit. Prentice took the top spot away
from Hulsizer on lap five after the duo raced side by side, lap
after lap.
In the final half of the race
lapped traffic was a factor. Hulsizer made several runs on Prentice,
but was never able to make the pass. In the closing laps Kevin Bates
made it a three car battle for the win. Prentice held off all
challengers and claimed his first victory of the season on the
high-banked track. Bates worked up to a second place finish with
Hulsizer settling for third.
Jim Witko Jr. and Ryan Phelps
completed the top five feature finishers. Chad Phelps, Tim Sears,
John Barker, Tony Buffa and Pete Taylor finished in positions sixth
through tenth respectively.
Jeremy Pitcher won his second
20-lap DIRT Sportsman feature race of the season last Saturday
night. Shawn Donath, Sam Reakes IV, John Pietrowicz and Gregg Carner
completed the top five feature finishers. Roger West led the first
three circuits before John Pietrowicz paced the field on laps four
and five. Pitcher made the winning move past Pietrowicz on lap six.
Billy Clark earned his fifth 20-lap
DIRT Pro Stock feature race win last Saturday night. Jason Parkhurst,
Bob Buono, Freddy Dennis and Jack Terrell followed Clark across the
finish line in the top five. Terrell led the opening three circuits
of the main event. Parkhurst took command of the field on lap four
and would lead through the halfway stage. Clark made his winning
move past Parkhurst on lap-11.
Phil Marsden claimed his first
20-lap Pure Stock feature race win of the season last Saturday
night. Dave Mannise, Steve Crouse, Ron Hawker and Rusty Marsden
finished in positions second through fifth respectively. Marsden led
the entire 20-lap distance to earn the victory after a season slowed
by bad luck.
Dan Williams won his second 20-lap
ESDCA Mod Lite feature race last Saturday night. Tim Devendorf, Tod
Simons, Andrew Schartner and Jeff Barker finished in positions
second through fifth respectively.
Bill Kisselstein (50's), Darryl
Sherman (60's) and Rob Casti (70's) were Midstate Vintage Stock Car
Club feature winners last Saturday night. The MVSSC racers returned
to Fulton Speedway with a strong car count that entertained the
large crowd in attendance.
Chad Guthrie returned to victory
lane at the conclusion of the 25-lap Four Cylinder Enduro feature
race. Morris Matthews, Charles DeGroff, Matt Kitts and Mark Johnston
completed the top five feature finishers.
