FULLER FLIES TO FIFTH WIN OF THE SEASON AT FULTON SPEEDWAY ON HERTZ EQUIPMENT RENTAL NIGHT

Tim Fuller won his 5th feature of 2006 on Hertz Equipment Rental / Whittaker's Trophy Auto Sales Night.

FULTON, NY...Tim Fuller was simply flying last Saturday at Fulton Speedway as the defending Track Champion won his third straight and fifth 35-lap DIRT Big Block Modified feature of the season. Fuller came from the 17th starting position to take the lead away from Danny Johnson on lap-22. Fuller was then able to hold off Johnson to earn the $2,000 payday on Hertz Equipment Rental / Whittaker's Trophy Auto Sales Night.

Tony Buffa jumped out to the early lead at the start of the Hertz Equipment Rental / Whittaker's Trophy Auto Sales DIRT Big Block Modified main event from the pole starting position. Buffa would lead the opening 10 circuits over the 25-car starting field. Danny Johnson took the top spot away from Buffa on lap-11. Johnson would lead through lap-17 when Jimmy Phelps became the third leader in the event.

Phelps would lead through lap-18 when Danny Johnson regained the top spot. It was on lap-22 when Fuller passed Danny Johnson for the lead. Johnson remained in striking distance of Fuller until the finish, but was never able to regain the top position. Alan Johnson made his typical late race charge to finish third. Pat Ward and Dale Planck completed the top five feature finishers. Planck worked up from the 18th starting position.

Joey Williams cruised to his third 20-lap DIRT Sportsman feature race win at Fulton Speedway last Saturday night. Jeremy Pitcher, Sam Reakes IV, Shawn Donath and Jason Rood followed Williams across the finish line. Dave Reilley led the first three circuits of the main event. Williams made the winning move past Reilley on lap four and never gave it back.

Pete Stefanski won his second straight 20-lap DIRT Pro Stock feature race last Saturday night. Bob Buono, Dennis Gauvreau, Jason Parkhurst and Curt Prevo finished in positions second through fifth respectively. Vaughn led the opening circuit. Jason Parkhurst led the field on laps two through nine. Buono led laps 10 through 12. Stefanski passed Buono for the win on lap-13.

Ron Hawker claimed his third 20-lap Fulton Speedway Pure Stock feature race win of the season last Saturday night. Joe Briere, Dan Hofmann Sr., Phil Norman and Gary Barton rounded out the top five feature finishers. Adam Guilds led the opening two circuits of the main event. Hawker passed Guilds for the lead on lap three and it was a lead he would never give back.

Dan Williams won his third ESDCA Mod Lite feature race win of the season last Saturday night. Tim Devendorf, Darren Austin, Frank Sobotka and Tod Simons finished in positions second through fifth respectively. Austin led the opening seven circuits of the main event. Williams made the winning move past Austin on lap eight.

Chuck Powelczyk recovered from a heat race accident to earn the win in the 15-lap Four Cylinder Super Stock finale last Saturday at Fulton Speedway. Aron Backus, Lorraine Powelczyk, Jason Patterson and Sam Curcie completed the top five feature finishers. Powelczyk passed Delacruz for the win on lap-10. Aron Backus and Rich Murtaugh were also feature race leaders.

A huge show is planned at Fulton Speedway this Saturday. September 2. The DIRT Big Block Modifieds will compete in the 40-lap 9th Annual Showdown at Sundown Victoria 200 All Star Qualifier special. The DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stocks, Pure Stocks, Four Cylinder Super Stocks and the Four Cylinder Enduro racers will also be in competition. A gigantic fireworks display will also be presented.
