PIETROWICZ, HAWKER, POWELCZYK & GUTHRIE ALL MIDWEEK WINNERS AT FULTON
FULTON, NY...Shawn Donath, John Pietrowicz,
Ron Hawker, Chuck Powelczyk and Chad Guthrie were all feature winners at
Fulton Speedway last Wednesday night during the midweek special event.
Fans were treated to a fast paced five division race program that was
completed in two and a half hours on a comfortable summer night.
Current DIRT Sportsman point leader
Shawn Donath earned his first 20-lap DIRT Sportsman feature race win of
the season last Wednesday night. Mike Bowman, Roy Bresnahan, Sam Reakes
IV and Shane Donath completed the top five feature finishers. Donath
made the winning move past Bowman on lap-11. Bowman, led the opening
circuit while John Behron paced the field on laps two and three.
John Pietrowicz earned the victory in
the 20-lap Pro Stock Open. Pete Stefanski, Bret Belden, Billy Clark and
Ron Marsden finished in positions second through fifth respectively.
Dick Parkhurst led the first four circuits of the main event. Bret
Belden led the field on lap five. It was on lap six when Pietrowicz
passed Belden for the lead and then held off Stefanski in the closing
laps for the victory.
The race of the night was the 20-lap
Pure Stock Open which Ron Hawker won in a photo finish over Dave Mannise.
Rusty Marsden, Pat Hobbs and Nick Rizzo completed the top five feature
finishers. Marsden led the opening circuit of the main event. Mannise
took command of the 24-car starting field on lap two and appeared headed
to victory. Hawker had a different agenda, though, and won the drag race
to the finish line.
Chuck Powelczyk held off Joey Delacruz
to win the 15-lap Four Cylinder Super Stock main event. Glen Erwin, Aron
Backus and Lorraine Powelczyk finished in positions third through fifth
respectively. Delacruz and Powelczyk were the only drivers to lead a
circuit in the main event.
Chad Guthrie held off Chad Dupra to win
the 25-lap Four Cylinder Enduro main event. Morris Matthews, Josh
Herbert and Matt Kitts rounded out the top five feature finishers. Dupra
led the first 12 circuits before Guthrie took the lead away at the
halfway stage.
This Saturday at Fulton Speedway the
DIRT Big Block Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stocks, Pure Stocks,
Four Cylinder Super Stocks and Four Cylinder Enduro racers will all be
in competition on Snap-on Tools Family Autograph Night presented by
Canale Insurance. Show time is 7 p.m. For more information please go on
