FULLER WINS CLASSIC SHOOT-OUT AT FULTON SPEEDWAY ON RAYMOND'S CAR CARE / BUDWEISER BEER NIGHT

 

Tim Fuller won his fourth DIRT Modified main of 2006.
FULTON, NY...Tim Fuller won a classic Fulton Speedway shoot-out last Saturday night. The defending Fulton Speedway Track Champion and Victoria 200 Champion earned his fourth victory of the season in a event that featured two, three and even four wide competition. And that is not event talking about the wild slide jobs that left the fans on their feet throughout the 35-lap Raymond's Car Care / Budweiser Beer affair.
 
     Tony Buffa raced out to the early lead at the start of the Raymond's Car Care / Budweiser Beer DIRT Big Block Modified main event from the outside pole starting position. Buffa was flying around the top side of the track and would lead the first 18 circuits. Jim Witko Jr. took the top spot away from Buffa on lap-19. Buffa would come right back though and would lead the field again on laps 20 and 21.
 
     Pat Ward became the third different leader of the event on lap-22. Ward would only lead one circuit as Alan Johnson came away with the lead on lap-23. Fuller took the lead away from Johnson on lap-24 and was the third different leader in three laps. On lap 24 Johnson, Fuller and Ward raced down the front stretch three wide. And the rest of the event was the same as the trio battled for the win.
 
     Fuller went on to the feature win in the Native Poker sponsored entry with Johnson and Ward completing the top three feature finishers. Ryan Phelps, Scott Prentice and Jim Witko were the next three across the finish line, all with tremendous runs. Jimmy Phelps, Kevin Bates, Danny Johnson and Vinnie Vitale completed the top ten feature finishers.
 
     Shane Donath earned his third 20-lap DIRT Sportsman feature race win last Saturday night. Shawn Donath, Alan Fink, Joey Williams and Jeremy Pitcher completed the top five feature finishers. Shane Donath led the entire 20-lap distance and was able to hold off his brother Shawn in the late going to claim the feature victory.
 
     Pete Stefanski made his first visit to Fulton Speedway this season a successful one last Saturday night by winning the 20-lap DIRT Pro Stock main event. Billy Clark, Bob Buono, Dennis Gauvreau and Dave Briggs completed the top five feature finishers. Curt Prevo led the first two circuits along with lap four. Briggs paced the field on lap three. Stefanski passed Prevo on lap five and never gave the lead away again.
 
     Steve Crouse won his third 20-lap Pure Stock feature race last Saturday night in a photo finish ahead of Phil Marsden. Joe Briere, Dave Mannise and Ron Hawker completed the top five feature finishers. Joe Buske, Jim Wallace and Phil Marsden were all feature race leaders along with Crouse. The event featured plenty of action with the race in doubt until the finish line.
 
     Dan Williams claimed his third 20-lap ESDCA Mod Lite feature race win of the season last Saturday night. Tim Devendorf, Darren Austin, Andrew Schartner and Tom Walsh finished in positions second through fifth respectively. Williams made the winning move past Austin on lap six. Larry Casbohm led the opening circuit while Mike Isabell paced the field laps two through four.
 
     This Wednesday, August 16 at Fulton Speedway is a Two For One General Admission special. In race competition will be the DIRT Sportsman, $500 to win Pro Stock Open, $400 to win Pure Stock Open, $200 to win Four Cylinder Super Stock special and a $200 to win Four Cylinder Enduro. Modified hot lap sessions will also be offered. Show time is 7 p.m.
 
     Saturday, August 19 is the final Family Autograph Night of the season. The DIRT Big Block Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stocks, Pure Stocks, Four Cylinder Super Stocks and the Four Cylinder Enduro racers will all be in action on the high-banked track. Race time is set for 7 p.m.
