Modified feature winner Alan Johnson. |
FULTON, NY...Alan Johnson powered to
his second 35-lap DIRT Big Block Modified feature win of the season
last Saturday at Fulton Speedway on Syracuse.com / Ferris Industries
Night. The $2,000 victory for Johnson in the Jeff Rudalavage owned,
Native Poker sponsored ride was an impressive one for the veteran
driver on the fast and tacky track.
Scott Prentice raced out to the
early lead at the start of the Syracuse.com / Ferris Industries DIRT
Big Block Modified feature race from the outside pole starting
position. Prentice would lead the first six circuits before Jim
Witko passed the early race leader on lap seven. Witko would hold
the lead through lap 17. It was on the lap-18 restart when Prentice
worked the lead back from Witko.
Prentice was looking to run away
and hide from the rest of the field, but a caution on lap-23 ended
that plan. Alan Johnson restarted second behind Prentice and the
multi-time Track Champion wasted little time in moving into the top
spot. Once in front Johnson was never challenged and claimed the
victory. Prentice finished a strong second with Tom Sears, Pat Ward
and Jeff Isabell completing the top five feature finishers.
Mike Bowman won his first ever
20-lap DIRT Sportsman feature race last Saturday night. Roy
Bresnahan, John Behron, Shawn Donath and Dave Reilley finished in
positions second through fifth respectively. Bowman took the lead
away from a strong running Behron on lap-16 and then never gave it
back. Chris Hile led the opening circuit of the main event that
went the first 19 laps caution free.
Billy Clark claimed his second
straight 20-lap DIRT Pro Stock feature race win last Saturday night.
Jack Terrell, Bob Buono, Jason Parkhurst and Jim Evans followed
Clark across the finish line. Clark made the winning move past Dick
Parkhurst on lap-13. Jim Evans led the first two circuits of the
feature event.
Rusty Marsden was awarded his first
20-lap Pure Stock feature race win of the season last Saturday night
after the Steve Crouse driven car was disqualified in post race
inspection. Dave Mannise, Gary Barton, Phil Marsden and Joe Briere
completed the top five feature finishers in the official order of
finish. Joe Buske, Curt Prevo and Quinton Burton all led the main
event.
Jerry Herbert earned his first
25-lap Four Cylinder Enduro feature race win last Saturday night.
Chad Guthrie, Mark Johnston, Randy Shantel and Art Dupra rounded out
the top five feature finishers in the 20-car starting field.
Professional DIRT Motorsports
competition will continue this Saturday at Fulton Speedway with the
DIRT Big Block Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stocks, Pure
Stocks and the ESDCA Mod Lites all in action. Show time is 7:00 p.m.
