FULLER SURVIVES LATE RACE CAUTION PERIOD TO WIN THRILLING DIRT BIG BLOCK MODIFIED FEATURE

DIRT Modified feature winner Tim Fuller.

FULTON, NY...Tim Fuller survived a late race caution period with just two circuits remaining in the 35-lap DIRT Big Block Modified feature race last Saturday to earn his first victory of the season at the Home of the Victoria 200. Fuller came charging from the 12th starting position to the lead in just 14 caution free laps. The late race caution period gave both Billy Decker and Alan Johnson a shot at the $2,000 winner share, but Fuller wasn't about to give the top prize away.

Steve Hulsizer came charging from the third starting position to lead the opening circuit of the DIRT Big Block Modified main event. Hulsizer would lead the 27-car starting field for the opening 13-laps. It was on lap-14 when Fuller took the top spot away from Hulsizer. At the halfway mark Fuller was being chased in the top five by Hulsizer, Tom Sears Jr., Decker and Dan Vauter.

Just when it appeared that the feature race would go without a caution period Dale Planck, Tim Sears and Vinnie Vitale tangled in the first turn area on lap-33. All the lead lap cars were grouped together single file on the restart and that created quite a finish. During the final two circuits Fuller, Decker and Alan Johnson were all in contention for the feature victory.

Fuller was not to be denied the victory, however. Alan Johnson crossed the finish line in the second position with Decker following. Hulsizer and Tom Sears completed the top five feature finishers. Ryan Phelps, Stewart Friesen, Jimmy Phelps, Pat Ward and Kevin Bates finished in positions sixth through tenth respectively. Fans were treated to tremendous two, three and four wide action throughout the event.

Shane Donath beat his brother Shane to earn his first 20-lap DIRT Sportsman feature race of the season last Saturday night. Sam Reakes IV, Mike Bowman and Darren Forbes followed the Donath brothers across the finish line. Shane Donath passed Bowman with just two circuits remaining to earn the feature victory. Nick Humphrey led the opening five laps of the main event.

Ron Marsden won his first ever 20-lap DIRT Pro Stock feature race last Saturday night. Billy Clark, Louie Jackson, Bob Buono and Dion Oakes finished in positions second through fifth respectively. Marsden made the race winning move on lap seven as he slipped past Jason Parkhurst. Jim Evans was the only other driver to lead feature lap.

Steve Crouse was the winner of the special 20-lap Pure Stock feature race that paid $200 to win. Dave Mannise, Mike Watkins, Rusty Marsden and Steve Woodworth completed the top five feature finishers. Rob Whipple led the opening two circuits of the feature race. Mike Watkins took command of the 26-car feature field on lap three. Crouse made the race winning move on lap-13.

Bryan Howland earned the well deserved victory in the 25-lap Empire Super Sprint feature race. Justin Barger, Dan Kaszubinski, Mike Stelter and Dave Ely followed Howland across the finish line.
