WARD WINS FIRST OF THE SEASON AT FULTON SPEEDWAY

FULTON, NY...Pat Ward won his first
35-lap DIRT Big Block Modified feature race of the season last
Saturday at Fulton Speedway. Ward powered under Danny Johnson on
lap-28 in what turned out to be the winning move in the LJL
Racing Gypsum Express ride. The victory for the veteran driver was
worth $2,000. Ward became the fourth different winner in four
feature races this season at the Home of the Victoria 200.
DIRT Big Block Modified rookie
driver Matt Fink raced out to the early lead at the start of the
DIRT Big Block Modified main event from the pole starting position.
Fink led the opening three circuits. Tony Buffa passed Fink on lap
four. Buffa was running a very strong race and would lead through
lap-20. It was on lap-21 when Danny Johnson took the top spot away
from Buffa.
Danny Johnson tried to open up his
lead, but Ward was flying through the field. Ward powered under
Johnson on lap-28. Once in front Ward was never challenged and
claimed the victory. Danny Johnson had to settle for second with
brother Alan Johnson crossing in third. Dale Planck and Jimmy Phelps
completed the top five feature finishers in the 26-car starting
grid.
Sam Reakes IV won his first 20-lap
DIRT Sportsman feature race of the season last Saturday night.
Jeremy Pitcher, Shawn Donath, Joey Williams and Shane Donath
finished in positions second through fifth respectively. Reakes took
the top spot away from Jason Rood on lap eight and then held off the
challenges of Pitcher to earn the victory.
Billy Clark earned the victory in
the 20-lap DIRT Pro Stock main event, his first of 2006.. Jack
Terrell, Jason Parkhurst, Freddy Dennis and Dave Meeks followed
Clark across the finish line. Clark took the top spot away
from Terrell on lap three and then held on for the victory in the
action packed event. Jason Parkhurst led the first two circuits of
the feature race.
Ron Hawker continued the string of
new winners by leading the way in the 20-lap Pure Stock finale. Dave
Mannise, Joe Briere, Phil Marsden and Dan Hofmann Sr. finished in
positions second through fifth respectively. Jim Wallace led the
first two laps of the main event. Hawker took command of the 26-car
starting field for good on the third circuit.

Joey Delacruz claimed the victory in the
opening 15-lap Four Cylinder Super Stock feature race of the season
last Saturday night. Todd Williamson, Jim Money, Claude Hutchings
Jr. and Kevin Fassett followed the winner across the finish line.
Delacruz led the entire distance in the main event.
Chad Guthrie won his second 25-lap
Four Cylinder Enduro feature of the season last Saturday night.
Guthrie became the first repeat winner of the season at Fulton
Speedway. Jerry Herbert, Morris Mathews, Randy Shantel and Mark
Johnston completed the top five feature finishers.
Professional DIRT Motorsports
competition will continue this Saturday at Fulton Speedway with the
DIRT Big Block Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stocks, Pure
Stocks and the ESDCA Mod Lites all in action. Show time is 7 p.m.
