JIMMY PHELPS CLAIMS WILD DIRT BIG BLOCK MODIFIED FEATURE RACE WIN ON PROMOTION SPEED SUPPLY NIGHT

FULTON, NY...Jimmy Phelps claimed the victory in a wild 35-lap DIRT Big Block Modified feature race last Saturday at Fulton Speedway on Promotion Speed Supply Night. Danny Johnson and Phelps swapped the lead numerous times throughout the event, with the lead changing on more than one occasion on several laps. The victory for the Phelps Family Racing, J&B Installations sponsored car was worth $2,000.

Tony Buffa raced out to the early lead at the start of the Promotion Speed Supply DIRT Big Block Modified feature race from the pole starting position. Buffa led the first 12-laps of the main event. On lap-13 a hard charging Danny Johnson took command of the field. At the halfway mark Danny Johnson was being followed in the top five by Vinnie Vitale, Jimmy Phelps, Buffa and Tim Fuller.

Jimmy Phelps moved into the second position on lap-27 and that set-up a tremendous battle between himself and Danny Johnson. The lead changed hands virtually in every turn. It was on lap-33 when Phelps took the lead for good when Johnson started to slow with a smoking engine. Phelps went on to the victory, while Vinnie Vitale finished second, his best ever finish at the track. Danny Johnson hung on for third with Alan Johnson and Pat Ward completing the top five feature finishers.

Jeremy Pitcher won his first ever DIRT Sportsman feature race at Fulton Speedway last Saturday night. Shawn Donath, Sam Reakes IV, Shane Donath and Tim Devendorf completed the top five in the official order of finish. Pitcher led the entire 20-lap distance to earn the popular victory.

Bob Buono earned his first victory of the season in the 20-lap DIRT Pro Stock feature race last Saturday night. Louie Jackson, Billy Clark, P.J. Peters and Dick Parkhurst crossed the finish line in positions second through fifth respectively. Mitchell Jock led the first nine laps of the main event before dropping out of the race. Clark inherited the lead at this point and held it until lap 15 when Buono made the race winning move.

Dave Mannise, the winningest driver in Fulton Speedway Pure Stock history claimed his first win of the 2006 season last Saturday in the 20-lap feature race. Mannise led the entire 20-lap distance from the outside pole starting position.

Doug Williams earned the victory in the season opening 20-lap ESDCA Mod Lite feature race. Sterling Miller, Dave Trytek, Ken Gamlen and Lowell Zehr followed Williams across the finish line. Miller led the opening lap of the main event. Williams took over on lap two and would never give the top spot back.

Chad Guthrie was the winner of the season opening Four Cylinder Enduro race. Josh Herbert, Morris Mathews, Art Dupra and Chad Dupra finished in positions second through fifth respectively.

The Empire Super Sprints will invade Fulton Speedway this Saturday night. Well over 40 of the winged warriors are expected to be in competition. The DIRT Big Block Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stocks and the Pure Stocks will also be in competition. The Pure Stocks will compete in a $200 to win special.
