JOHNSON
FLIES TO THIRD FULTON SPEEDWAY BIG BLOCK MODIFIED FEATURE WIN OF THE
SEASON ON RAYMOND'S CAR CARE / FERRIS INDUSTRIES / BUDWEISER NIGHT
FULTON, NY...Alan Johnson dominated the
35-lap DIRT Big Block Modified feature race last Saturday at Fulton
Speedway on Raymond's Car Care / Ferris Industries / Budweiser Beer
Night. It was Johnson's third victory of the season at the Home of the
Dynomax Victoria 200. The victory for the Jeff Rudalvage owned, WPC
Associates sponsored car was worth $2,000.
Tony Buffa raced out to the early lead
at the start of the Raymond's Car Care / Ferris Industries / Budweiser
DIRT Big Block Modified feature from the outside pole starting position.
After five circuits Buffa continued to lead the talented field and was
being chased in the top five by Dave Rauscher, Ryan Richardson, Jim
Witko Jr. and Tom Sears Jr.
Buffa would lead the first 11-laps of
the main event when the second and final caution period of the race came
about. Johnson was able to work under Buffa after the restart and led
the field starting on lap-12. At the halfway mark Johnson was being
followed in the top ten by Buffa, Pat Ward, Tim Fuller, Richardson,
Sears, Billy Decker, Witko, Scott Prentice and Chad Phelps.
Johnson was able to run away and hide
from the rest of the field as the event went 23 straight laps without a
caution. The battle for second through sixth was a good one, however.
Fuller won that battle to finish second with Ward, Decker and Matt
Sheppard completing the top five feature finishers. Buffa recorded his
best ever DIRT Big Block Modified finish at Fulton Speedway with a
strong sixth place effort.
Alan Johnson won the eight lap DIRT 358
Modified mini-series race last Saturday night. Matt Sheppard, Dave
Rasher and Donnie Wetmore Jr. completed the feature finishers in the
cash dash type event.
Jim Bowman won his third 20-lap DIRT
Sportsman feature race last Saturday night. Greg Doust, Jeremy Pitcher,
Mike Bowman and Sam Reakes IV finished in positions second through fifth
respectively in the wild event. Bowman took the top spot away from Doust
on lap-13 and then held off all challengers for the victory.
T.J. Fitzgibbons won his fourth 20-lap
DIRT Pro Stock feature race last Saturday night. Ray Maloney, John
Pietrowicz, Bob Buono and Jason Parkhurst finished in positions second
through fifth respectively. Fitzgibbons led the entire distance in the
non-point event.
The Pure Stock feature race was
rained-out. The Pure Stock competitors will battle in double features
this Saturday, August 27.
Professional DIRT Motorsports
competition will continue this Saturday at 7 p.m. The DIRT Big Block
Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stocks, double features for the Pure
Stocks, Mod Lites and the Four Cylinder Enduro racers will make-up the
huge race program. A Driver Autograph session will be held starting
after hot laps at 6:30 p.m. For more information go on line to
