WILLIAMS, MONEY & SPAULDING WIN VICTORIA CHAMPIONSHIP RACES /
RICHARDSON, MALONEY & MARSDEN EARN VICTORIA WEEKEND GUARANTEED STARTING
POSITIONS
FULTON, NY...Dan Williams, Jim Money and
Jason Spaulding all won Victoria Championship races Saturday at Fulton
Speedway. Eric Richardson, Ray Maloney and Phil Marsden were also
feature winners during the action packed show. Donnie Wetmore Jr., Tom
Denton and Dick Stark all earned guaranteed starting positions for the
Victoria Championship races coming up this Friday, October 1.
Eric Richardson earned the victory in
the 20-lap DIRT Sportsman main event. Mark Yorker, Donnie Wetmore Jr.,
Jack Meeks and Jim Kite completed the top five feature finishers.
Wetmore picked up the guaranteed starting spot for the Victoria
Championship coming up Friday, October 1. Meeks led the first ten laps
of the race. Richardson took the top spot away on lap-11 and never gave
it back.
Ray Maloney crossed the finish line
first in the 20-lap DIRT Pro Stock feature race. Tom Denton, Lee
Burnett, Bob Buono and Alan Fink finished in positions second through
fifth respectively. Denton claimed the Victoria Championship spot for
this Friday, October 1. Maloney took the top spot away from Denton on
lap-18 and held on for the final two circuits for the victory.
Phil Marsden returned to the winners
circle at the conclusion of the 20-lap Pure Stock feature race. Russ
Marsden, Dick Stark, Ricky DeGroff and Joe Buske followed Marsden across
the finish line. Stark earned the guaranteed starting position for the
Victoria Championship on October 1. Stark led the opening three laps
before spinning. Phil Marsden inherited the lead and never gave it back.
Jim Money earned the victory in the
20-lap Four Cylinder Stock Victoria Championship. Todd Williamson,
Russell Erwin, Jeff Leslie and Bill Tile finished in positions second
through fifth respectively. Money took the lead away from Williamson on
lap-14 and went on to the championship victory.
Dan Williams claimed the victory in the
36-lap Dwarf Car / Mod Lite Doug Cooper Memorial Victoria Championship
race. Barry Virts, John Behron, Lowell Zehr and Mark Cooper finished in
positions second through fifth respectively. Williams led the entire
distance for the victory.
Jason Spaulding earned the victory in
the 50-lap Four Cylinder Enduro Victoria Championship race. Chad Dupra,
Sam Curcie, Mark Johnston and George Kirchoff completed the top five
feature finishers in the 38-car starting field.
The 19th Annual Victoria 200 Weekend at
Fulton Speedway is set for this Friday-Saturday, October 1-2. In race
competition on Friday, October 1 will be Victoria Championship races for
the Sportsman, Pro Stocks and Pure Stocks plus 358 Modified hot laps.
Race time is 7 p.m. Saturday, October 2 is the complete one-day show for
the $20,000 plus to win Dynomax Victoria 200 presented by OCNB. Heat
races begin at 2:30 p.m.
