DECKER CONTINUES HOT STREAK WITH ANOTHER DIRT BIG BLOCK MODIFIED FEATURE WIN

FULTON, NY...Billy Decker won his second straight 35-lap DIRT Big Block Modified feature race at Fulton Speedway on Saturday night. The win was the actual third in a row for Decker who won the DIRT 358 Modified main event two weeks ago. The victory for the John and Laura Wight owned Gypsum Wholesalers Team was worth $2,000.

Brian Murphy raced out to the early lead at the start of the DIRT Big Block Modified main event. After five circuits the rookie driver continued to lead and was being followed in the top five by  Sean Beardsley, Dave Rauscher, Jeff Rudalavage and Jimmy Phelps. Alan Johnson lost power on the track on lap-10 which would turn out to be the only caution period of the race. Murphy would lead the first 12 circuits in his strongest outing of the season.

Decker took the top spot away from Murphy on lap-13. Decker came charging from the 14th starting position to the lead in little time. At the halfway mark Decker was being chased in the top five by Murphy, Pat Ward, Tim Fuller and Jimmy Phelps.
Matt Sheppard, Rudalavage, Scott Prentice, Beardsley and Vinnie Vitale raced in positions sixth through tenth at the halfway stage.

Fuller, the current point leader moved into the second position on lap-26. That is as far as Fuller would go, however, as Decker earned his fifth win of the season at the Home of the Victoria 200. Fuller had to settle for second with Ward, Jimmy Phelps and Murphy completing the top five feature finishers. The fifth place finish was Murphy's career best.

Sam Reakes IV won his first ever 20-lap DIRT Sportsman feature Saturday night. The 16 year-old driver held off Jeremy Pitcher to earn the victory. Tom Juhl, Mark Yorker and Mike Teachout completed the top five feature finishers. Reakes passed Pitcher for the lead on lap seven. The duo raced virtually side by side the remainder of the race in a great battle for the win.

Current DIRT Pro Stock point leader Lee Burnett added to his advantage with his fourth 20-lap feature race victory of the season. Jeremy Clark, Bob Buono, Ray Maloney and Jason Rood finished in positions second through fifth respectively. Burnett inherited the lead on lap-14 when race leader John Pietrowicz suffered a flat tire. Burnett took advantage of the situation and recorded the victory.

Phil Marsden won his ninth 15-lap Pure Stock main event of the season Saturday night. Russ Marsden, Ricky DeGroff, Chad Crouse and Steve Woodworth completed the top five feature finishers. Phil Marsden took the top spot away from Russ Marsden on lap eight. The Marsden boys battled down to the checkered flag with Phil coming out on top on this occasion.

Tim Devendorf won his second 15-lap Dwarf Car / Mod Lite main event Saturday night. Darren Austin, John Behron, Doug Williams and Steve Miller finished in positions second through fifth. Devendorf took the top spot away from Austin on lap-10 and he would never give it back.

Chad Guthrie won yet another 25-lap Four Cylinder Enduro race Saturday night. Jerry Herbert, Troy Engerbretsen, Kevin Hendrix and George Ritchie Jr. completed the top five feature finishers.

A big show is planned this Saturday at Fulton Speedway with the winged ARDC Midgets making their only appearance of the season. The DIRT Big Block Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stocks, Pure Stocks and the Four Cylinder Enduro racers will also be in action. Race time is set for 7 p.m. For more information please call the track office at 315-593-6531 or go on line to www.fultonspeedway.com.
