JOHNSON WINS BIG BLOCK AND 358 MODIFIED FEATURES ON COORS LIGHT / FERRIS INDUSTRIES NIGHT

FULTON, NY...Alan Johnson made it a clean sweep at Fulton Speedway last Saturday on Coors Light / Ferris Industries Night. Johnson won both the 35-lap DIRT Big Block Modified feature as well as the 25-lap DIRT 358 Modified main event. Both of the victories for the multi-time Fulton Speedway Track Champion came in the Eric Kinglsey owned Troyer DIRT Modifieds.

     Matt Sheppard raced out to the early lead at the start of the 35 lap DIRT Big Block Modified feature. Sheppard set a fast pace from the start as he attempted to run and hide from the rest of the field. With 10 laps complete Ryan Phelps, Tom Sears, Tim Sears and Vinnie Vitale followed Sheppard in the top five.

     Johnson started from the 17th starting position and it was on lap 17 when he took the lead away from Sheppard. For several laps Sheppard continued to battle for the lead, but Johnson eventually opened up a slight lead on his way to his second feature win of the night. Sheppard, Tim Fuller, Pat Ward and Tom Sears completed the top five feature finishers.

     Alan Johnson earned the victory in the opening 25-lap DIRT 358 Modified feature of the season last Saturday night. Tim Fuller, Tom Sears Jr., Stewart Friesen and Matt Sheppard completed the top five feature finishers behind Johnson. Sears led the opening 12 laps of the feature. Johnson took the lead away from Sears on lap 13 and would lead the rest of the way in the caution free race.

     Ryan Richardson earned his first DIRT Sportsman feature win of the season last Saturday night. Jeremy Pitcher, Mike Button, Greg Doust and Ken Stafford completed the top five feature finishers behind Richardson. Richardson took the top spot away from Pitcher on lap 17 and he would never give it up in the final three circuits.

     Pat Hobbs won his first ever DIRT Pro Stock feature race last Saturday night. Jeremy Clark, Lee Burnett, T.J. Fitzgibbons and John Underwood chased Hobbs across the finish line. Hobbs took the top spot away from Burnett on lap five and led the rest of the distance.

     Phil Marsden earned the vcitory in the 15-lap Pure Stock finale. Russ Marsden, Dave Mannise, Ricky DeGroff and Chuck Cushman finished in positions second through fifth respectively. Phil Marsden passed DeGroff on lap eight to take command of the field. It was a lead he would never give back.

     Darren Forbes crossed the finish line first at the conclusion of the Dwarf Car / Mod Lite main event. Joe Garafolo, Dan Williams, Frank Doll and Jeff Barker completed the top five feature finishers. Doll was the highest finishing traditional Dwarf Car. Forbes made a late race pass by Garafolo with two laps to go to earn the victory.

     Action will continue this Saturday at Fulton Speedway with the DIRT Big Block Modifieds / 358 Modifieds combined in a 35-lap feature. The DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stocks, Pure Stocks and the Four Cylinder Enduro racers will also be in competition plus an ATV-Four Wheeler Race.
