2004 SEASON FOR BREWERTON SPEEDWAY AND FULTON SPEEDWAY ENDS IN STYLE WITH AWARDS BANQUET AT WYNDHAM SYRACUSE

 
EAST SYRACUSE, NY...The 2004 race season for Brewerton Speedway and Fulton Speedway concluded in style recently with the Annual Awards Banquet that was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Wyndham Syracuse in East Syracuse, N.Y. The gathering included the entire group of both tracks including drivers, car owners, crew members, track officials and fans.
 
     Gary Tomkins claimed his first ever Brewerton Speedway DIRT Big Block Modified Track Championship this season at the D-shaped DIRT Demon. Alan Johnson, Tim Fuller, Billy Decker, Pat Ward, Vic Coffey, Matt Sheppard, Chuck Bower, Ryan Phelps and Scott Prentice followed Tomkins in the rankings.
 
     Johnny Hill earned his first ever Brewerton Speedway IMCA Modified track title this season in the popular class. Bob Bradt, Les Hubbard, Bill Anderson, Sean Lias, Dale Caswell, Bill Anderson Jr., George Valenti, Tim Hearne, Bob Ridgeway and Rich Riggs followed Hill in the final standings.
 
     Tim Devendorf was honored for winning the 2004 Brewerton Speedway Mod Lite Track Championship. Dan Williams and Mike Isabell followed Devendorf in the final rankings. Frank Doll Jr. earned the 2004 Brewerton Speedway Dwarf Car Track Championship with a solid fourth place finish in the overall standings. Don Fenner, Doug Williams, John Behron, Steve Miller, Jeff Barker and Matt Magner completed the top ten in the rankings.
 
     Chuck Powelczyk claimed his second straight Four Cylinder Super Stock track championship this season. Jeff Herbert, Lorrie Herbert, Walt VanEpps, Joey Delacruz, Tony VanEpps, Chris Kranz, Bruce Ackley, Jerry Curcie Sr. and Lee Hartzog followed Powelczyk in the final rankings.
 
     Chad Guthrie took home the laurels for winning the 2004 Brewerton Speedway Four Cylinder Enduro Track Championship. Jerry Herbert finished second to Guthrie in the final rankings.
 
     Tim Fuller had a dream season at Fulton Speedway during the 2004 season. Fuller earned the 2004 Fulton Speedway DIRT Big Block Modified Track Championship, the 2004 Fulton Speedway DIRT 358 Modified Track Championship as well as winning the Dynomax Victoria 200.
 
     Pat Ward, Billy Decker, Alan Johnson, Jeff Rudalavage, Matt Sheppard, Jimmy Phelps, Vinnie Vitale, Ryan Phelps and John Barker completed the top ten finishers in the successful first season of Big Block Modifieds at Fulton Speedway.
 
     Chad Phelps earned the 2004 Fulton Speedway DIRT Sportsman Track Championship. Tom Juhl, Greg Doust, Eric Richardson, Jeremy Pitcher, Mark Yorker, Donnie Wetmore Jr., Kevin Bates, Ken Stafford and Sam Reakes IV completed the top ten in the highly competitive class.
 
     Lee Burnett became another first time Fulton Speedway Track Champion after his banner season in the DIRT Pro Stock class. T.J. Fitzgibbons, Ray Maloney, Pat Hobbs, Jack Terrell, Donnie Decker, John Underwood, Alan Fink, Jason Rood and Jeremy Clark followed Burnett in the final standings.
 
     Russ Marsden claimed the 2004 Fulton Speedway Pure Stock Track Championship. Phil Marsden, Ricky DeGroff, Chad Crouse, Gary Barton, Steve Woodworth, Dan Hofmann Sr., Curt Prevo, Gary Donahue and Rob Whipple completed the top ten in the class.
 
     Jerry Herbert came out on top of the 2004 season standings in the Four Cylinder Enduro class to earn the season title. Chad Guthrie had to settle for second behind Herbert.
 
     Brewerton Speedway Rookie of the Year Awards presented by Can-Am Enterprises were awarded to Tim Sears (DIRT Modified), Calvin Painter (IMCA Modified), Joe Isabell (Mod Lite) and Joey Delacruz (Four Cylinder Stock).
 
     Fulton Speedway Rookie of the Year Awards presented by Can-Am Enterprises were presented to Brian Murphy (DIRT Modified), Kevin Bates (DIRT Sportsman), Donnie Decker (Pro Stock) and Chad Crouse (Pure Stock).
 
     Most Improved Driver Awards at Brewerton Speedway were presented to Ryan Phelps (DIRT Modified), Les Hubbard (IMCA Modified), Don Fenner (Mod Lite) and Walt VanEpps (Four Cylinder Stock).
 
     The Fulton Speedway Most Improved Driver Awards were presented to Pete Taylor (DIRT Modified), Mike Bowman (DIRT Sportsman), Pat Hobbs (Pro Stock) and Ricky DeGroff (Pure Stocks).
 
     Several special awards were also presented at the affair. Among those honored included Carl Tellier of Dynomax, Car Owners Elaine and Jim Beachy, Car Owners Bob and Michelle Faust, Car Owners John and Laura Wight, the WIXT-TV 9 Sports Team, Dave and Nancy MacDonald of the Brewerton Junior Fan Club and drivers John Barker, Gary Tomkins and Darren Forbes.
 
     Chad Phelps was the lucky winner of the new Bicknell chassis which was given away by Promotion Speed Supply.
 
     All drivers in attendance were eligible for a $1,000 cash drawing. The final two drivers remaining, Jeff Rudalavage and Dave Talbot settled on a split and each received $500.
 
     Leaf Racewear, Lias Tire, Shoenfeld Headers, Top Stitch Custom Embroidery, A to Z Dyno Service, Cerio Ignition, DIRT Motorsports and Midwest Motorsports all donated awards that were awarded to competitors in the top ten of the point standings in all four classes at both tracks.
 
     Door prizes were kindly supplied by the folks from Eagle Beverage, Syracuse Crunch, Adam Ross Cut Stone, Gater Racing News, Area Auto Racing News and IMCA Racing.
