PLANCK
HOLDS OFF JOHNSON TO CLAIM FEATURE WIN ON FERRIS INDUSTRIES NIGHT
FULTON, NY...Dale Planck was able to hold off
the late race charge of Alan Johnson last Saturday at Fulton Speedway to
claim the DIRT 358 Modified feature win on Ferris Industries Night. With
his third feature win of the season Planck was able to add to his point
lead in the division. The victory for the multi-time Fulton Speedway Track
Champion in the LYM Motorsports entry was worth $1,500.
Andy Powell jumped
out to the early lead at the start of the Ferris Industries DIRT 358
Modified feature from the pole starting position. Powell would lead the
opening two circuits of the event. Mike prentice was the race leader on
lap three. John Ramsey became the third different leader of the event on
lap four. With 10 laps complete Ramsey continued to lead and was being
followed in the top five by Planck, John Barker, Tom Sears and Prentice.
Planck took the top
spot away from Ramsey on lap 11. Planck wasted no time in moving up from
the 12th starting position to the lead in just 11 laps. At the halfway
point of the main event Planck was being followed in the top five by
Sears, Johnson, Ramsey and Barker. Racing in positions sixth through tenth
at the halfway stage stage in order included Justin Haers, Jeff Rudalavage,
Tim Fuller, Jim Witko and Jimmy Phelps.
Just when it appaered
that Planck had built a comfortable lead, it was time for Johnson to start
a charge. In the closing laps Johnson closed right in on Planck and the
race was in doubt. Planck was able to hold off Johnson for his third
feature win of the season. Johnson had to settle for second with Sears,
Rudalavage and Ramsey completing the top five feature finishers. The final
33 laps of the race went straight through without a caution.
Mike Button won his
first DIRT Sportsman feature race of the season last Saturday night. Ryan
Richardson, Donnie Wetmore Jr., Walt McArdell and Eric Richardson followed
Button across the finish line. Button took the lead away from Scott Binns
on lap five and led the rest of the way in the 20-lap event.
Ray Maloney won
his first DIRT Pro Stock main event of the season last Saturday
night. T.J. Fitzgibbons, Tom Barron, Jeremy Clark and John Pietrowicz
finished in positions second through fifth respectively. Maloney passed
Clark on lap-16 for the lead and led the rest of the way in the 20-lap
event.
Russ Marsden returned
to the winners circle at the conclusion of the 15-lap Pure Stock finale.
Phil Marsden, John Phillips, Chris Cunningham and Steve Woodworth
completed the top five feature finishers. Russ Marsden passed Phil Marsden
on the final lap for the victory.

winner of the special 20-lap Patriot Super Sprint feature. Brian Dumigan,
Chuck Hebing and Tim Barnard followed Wilson across the finish line in the
fast-paced event which was only slowed for one caution period.
The entire five
division show was completed in three hours.
