RUDALAVAGE
POWERS TO FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON ON HOFMANN HOT HAUS NIGHT
FULTON, NY...Jeff Rudalavage powered his way to
victory lane at Fulton Speedway last Saturday on Hofmann Hot Haus Night in the
DIRT 358 Modified feature event. It was the first win of the season for the
popular driver from Olyphant, Pennsylvania at the Home of the Dynomax
Victoria 200. Rudalavage took the lead in the 35-lap main event on lap seven
and led the rest of the distance in the WPC sponsored car to earn the $1,500
payday.
Jim Witko raced out to
the early lead at the start of the Hofmann Hot Haus DIRT 358 Modified feature
from the pole starting position. Witko led the first three circuits of the
main event. Jimmy Phelps took the top spot away from Witko on lap four. After
five circuits Phelps was being chased in the top five by John Ramsey, Witko,
Rudalavage and Todd Burley.
Rudalavage passed Phelps
for the lead on lap seven as the eventual winner wasted no time in moving up
from the ninth starting position. At the halfway point Rudalavage continued to
lead and was being followed in the top five by Ramsey, Tim Fuller, Burley and
Alan Johnson. Racing in positions sixth through tenth at the halfway stage in
order were Phelps, Dale Planck, Jutsin Haers, Don Spatorico and Tom Kinsella.
Both Fuller and Johnson
passed Ramsey on lap 25 to move into second and third respectively. A couple
of caution periods regrouped the field, but Rudalavage never gave away the top
spot and claimed the popular win. Fuller had to settle for second while Planck
made a late race charge to finish third. Johnson and Haers completed the top
five feature finishers in the fast paced event.
Tim Sears won his first
DIRT Sportsman feature of the 2003 campaign last Saturday night. Greg Doust,
Bill Shantel Jr., Ryan Richardson and Ron Loveless followed Sears across the
finish line. Sears passed Chad Phelps for the lead on lap 13 and he would lead
the rest of the distance in the 20-lap event.
Scott Moyer claimed his
first Pro Stock feature race win of the season last Saturday. Jeremy Clark,
T.J. Fitzgibbons, John Pietrowicz and Lee Burnett completed the top five
feature finishers behind Moyer. Moyer took the lead away from Pietrowicz on
lap nine and led the rest of the way in the 20-lap event.
Russ Marsden won his
first Pure Stock feature race of the season last Saturday night. Todd Storace,
Phil Marsden, Don Stevenson and Jay McGillicuddy followed Marsden across the
finish line. Marsden took the lead away from Mark Davison on lap six and he
led the rest of the distance in the 15-lap affair.
Racing will continue this
Saturday at Fulton Speedway with the DIRT 358 Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, DIRT
