PLANCK WINS SECOND STRAIGHT AT FULTON SPEEDWAY ON FILTREC CORCPORTATION/R.L. BREEN PAINTING & CHIMNEY CLEANING NIGHT

 

FULTON, NY...Dale Planck won his second straight DIRT 358 Modified feature at Fulton Speedway last Saturday night. Planck's latest victory came on Filtrec Corporation/R.L. Breen Painting & Chimney Cleaning Night. Planck passed Tim Fuller at the halfway point of the 35-lap main event to take over the top spot. Planck led the rest of the distance and earned $1,500 for the victory.

     Paul Kinney raced out to the early lead at the start of the Filtrec Corporation/R.L. Breen Painting & Chimney Cleaning DIRT 358 Modified feature from the outside pole starting position. Kinney set a fast pace from the and after five circuits he was being followed in the top five by Roy Shields, Don Spatorico, Tim Burnett and Jim Mahaney. Kinney would lead the first nine laps of the event.

     Burnett took the top spot away from Kinney on lap 10 and the Canandaigua, N.Y. driver would lead through lap 12. Veteran Roy Shields took the top spot away from Burnett on lap 13. Tim Fuller became the fourth different leader of the race on lap 15. Fuller powered his way around both Shields and Burnett to take over the top spot. Planck then made the same move around the duo of Burnett and Sheilds to move into second.

     It was at the halfway point of the 35-lap event when Planck took the lead away from Fuller. Planck worked his way up from the 16th starting position in consistent fashion. Once in front Planck never faltered and recorded his second straight victory at the Home of the Dynomax Victoria 200 while Fuller settled for second. Danny Johnson came from the rear of the field on two occasions to record a strong third place finish. Burnett and Todd Burley completed the top five feature finishers.

     Jim Bowman won his first DIRT Sportsman feature race of the season last Saturday night. Greg Doust, Eric Richardson, Walt McArdell and Steve Way followed Bowman across the finish line. Bowman took the lead away from Doust on lap four and led the rest of the way in the 20-lap event

     Lee Burnett won his first DIRT Pro Stock feature race of the season last Saturday night. Ray Maloney, Jeremy Clark, John Pietrowicz and John Lazore followed Burnett across the finish line. Burnett passed Maloney on lap eight and would lead the field the rest of the 20-lap distance.

     Phil Marsden won his second straight Pure Stock finale last Saturday night. Russ Marsden, Todd Storace, Don Stevenson and Dave Marcuccilli completed the top five feature finishers. Phil Marsden took the lead away from Stevenson on lap seven and led the rest of the distance in the 15-lap contest.

     Doug Norrie won the 20-lap Central New York Mini-Sprint feature race last Saturday night. The race was a wild affair with two red flag caution periods. All drivers were uninjured. 

     Racing will continue this Saturday at Fulton Speedway on JE Pistons Night. The DIRT 358 Modifieds, DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stocks, Pure Stocks and Four Cylinder Enduro racers will all be in action plus One On One Spectator Races.
