2003 SEASON FOR BREWERTON / FULTON SPEEDWAY CONCLUDES WITH RECENT BANQUET
BREWERTON, NY…The 2003 race season for Brewerton Speedway and Fulton Speedway came to an official close recently with the Annual Awards Banquet which was held at the Turning Stone Casino Resort in Verona, N.Y. Drivers, Race Teams, Car Owners, Sponsors and Officials all gathered to end the 2003 season in style for two popular Central New York based facilities.
Alan Johnson and the Elaine James Motorsports team earned their second straight Brewerton Speedway DIRT Big Block Track Championship. The potent combination also earned the 2003 Mr. DIRT Big Block title. Tim McCreadie, Billy Decker, Pat Ward, Tim Fuller, Chuck Bower, Frankie Caprara, Bob McCreadie, Craig Terrell and Scott Prentice completed the top ten in the final season standings in the highly competitive class.
Tim Fuller claimed the 2003 Fulton Speedway DIRT 358 Modified Track Championship for Car Owners Bob and Michele Faust. More success was to follow the B&F General Machine Team, which also claimed the 2003 MR. DIRT 358 Modified, title. Dale Planck, Jeff Rudalavage, Alan Johnson, Jimmy Phelps, Justin Haers, Todd Burley, John Barker, Tim Sears and John Ramsey followed fuller in the top ten rankings.
Mike Prentice was honored for earning the 2003 Brewerton Speedway DIRT 358 Modified Track Championship. Prentice is a young driver who has shown steady improvement in his three seasons of competition.
Ageless veteran Bill Anderson earned the 2003 Brewerton Speedway IMCA Modified Track Championship. Sean Lias, Bob Bradt, George Valenti, Les Hubbard, Gregg Kimball, Bill Anderson Jr., Dale Caswell, Richard Townsend and Rich Riggs completed the top ten finishers in the weekly standings.
Tim Sears claimed the 2003 Fulton Speedway DIRT Sportsman Track Championship. Ryan Richardson, Eric Richardson, Jeremy Pitcher, Walt McArdell, Donnie Wetmore Jr., Jim Livingston, Bill Shantel Jr., Jim Bowman and Ron Loveless finished the season standings in positions second through tenth respectively.
Dan Williams earned the 2003 Brewerton Speedway Dwarf Car Track Championship. Steve Miller, Darren Forbes, Joe Garafolo, Tim Devendorf, Tim Burdick, Mark Cooper, Kreig Heroth, Bob Garafolo and Shawn Hort followed Williams in the final standings competing the top ten finishers.
Jeremy Clark won his second straight Fulton Speedway DIRT Pro Stock Track Championship this season. Lee Burnett, Jason Rood, John Pietrowicz, Ray Maloney, Paul Stoneburg, Scott Beeles, Ricky Breed, Dave Meeks and T.J. Fitzgibbons completed the top ten in the final standings.
Chuck Powelczyk earned the 2003 Brewerton Speedway Four Cylinder Stock Track Championship. Lorrie Herbert, Russ Wassner, Doug Farnsworth, Jeff Herbert, Chris Kranz, Darik VanEpps, Bruce Ackley, Rick Angle and Ken Clark completed the top ten in the season standings.
Phil Marsden claimed the Fulton Speedway 2003 Pure Stock Track Championship. Russ Marsden, Todd Storace, Mark Davison, Steve Woodworth, Chris Cunningham, Bill Flask, John Phillips,. Joe Buske and Don Stevenson finished the season in positions second through fifth respectively.
Mitch Pietrowicz earned the 2003 Brewerton Speedway Four Cylinder Enduro Track Championship over Chad Guthrie and Ron Hunt.
Chad Guthrie claimed the 2003 Fulton Speedway Four Cylinder Enduro Track title over Troy Engebretsen and Jerry Herbert.
Brewerton Speedway Rookie of the Year Awards presented by Can-Am Enterprises were awarded to Craig Terrell in the DIRT Big Block Modified class, Dale Caswell in the IMCA Modified ranks, Tim Devendorf in the Dwarf Car division and Russ Wassner in the Four Cylinder Stock ranks.
Fulton Speedway Rookie of the Year Awards presented by Can-Am Enterprises were awarded to Craig Terrell in the DIRT 358 Modified class, Roger West in the DIRT Sportsman ranks, Scott Beeles in the DIRT Pro Stock class and Jay Martino in the Pure Stock division.
Brewerton Speedway Most Improved Driver Awards presented by Can-Am Enterprises were awarded to Steve Hulsizer in the DIRT Big Block Modified class, Gregg Kimball in the IMCA Modified division, Mark Cooper in the Dwarf Car ranks and Lorrie Herbert in the Four Cylinder Stock class.
Fulton Speedway Most Improved Driver Awards presented by Can-Am Enterprises were awarded to Justin Haers in the DIRT 358 Modified division, Eric Richardson in the DIRT Sportsman class, Lee Burnett in the Pro Stock ranks and Mark Davison in the Pure Stock division.
Several special awards concluded that portion of the program.
The entire WIXT TV-9 Sports team was honroed from the Brewerton Speedway for their outsstanding coverage of the D-shaped DIRT Demon.
Both Fulton Speedway and Brewerton Speedway honored veteran writer John Hill of the Syracuse Post-Standard for his continued in depth coverage of both tracks.
The entire Elaine James Motorsports team were presented a special plaque in honor of there 2003 Brewerton Speedway DIRT Big Block Modified Track Championship as well as their Mr. DIRT title,
Driver Tim Fuller accepted a special plaque for Car Owners Bob and Michelle Faust in honor of there 2003 Fulton Speedway DIRT 358 Modified Track Championship as well as the Mr. DIRT 358 Modified title.
Carl Tellier representing Dynomax received a special engraved clock from Fulton Speedway for their continued support of the Dynomax Victoria 200.
Cotingency Awards and Door Prizes were handed out throughout the evening.
