ALAN JOHNSON WINS SECOND DIRT 358 MODIFIED FEATURE OF THE WEEK ON COORS LIGHT NIGHT

FULTON, NY...Alan Johnson won his second DIRT 358 Modified feature of the week at Fulton Speedway last Saturday on Coors Light Night. Johnson also claimed the win in the Showdown at Sundown last Tuesday evening. It was the fourth victory of the season at the Home of the Victoria 200 for the talented veteran driver. Johnson's latest victory was worth $1,500.

Rich Vinson raced out to the early lead at the start of the Coors Light DIRT 358 Modified feature from the fourth starting position. Vinson set a fast pace from the start and after five circuits he was being chased in the top five by Roy Shields, Adam Smith, Tom Juhl and Pete Taylor. Vinson would lead the first 14 laps of the main event.

Juhl took the lead away from Vinson on lap 15. At the halfway point Juhl continued to lead the field with Johnson, Vinson, Gordy Button and Matt Sheppard following in the top five. Jeremy Smith, Justin Haers, Jimmy Phelps, Jeff Rudalavage and Tom Sears raced in positions sixth through tenth respectively at the halfway mark.

It was on lap 19 when Johnson took the top spot away from Juhl. Johnson worked his way patiently through the field from the 17th starting position. In the closing laps Johnson had the field covered on his way to victory lane. Sheppard moved from the 16th starting position to finish second. Juhl and Vinson both had their best outing of the season, finishing third and fourth respectively. Rookie Justin Haers completed the top five feature finishers.

Greg Doust crossed the finish line first at the conclusion of the 20-lap DIRT Sportsman feature race last Saturday night. It was the first feature win of the season for Doust. Mike Button, Rich Keller, Ryan Richardson and Jim Kite completed the top five feature finishers behind Doust. Doust took the lead away from Keller on lap 16 and led the rest of the distance.

Jason Rood was another first time winner for the 2002 season in the Pro Stock division last Saturday night. Jeremy Clark, Lee Burnett, Ray Maloney and Jack Terrell completed the top five feature finishers behind Rood. Keith Butler led the opening three laps of the main event. Rood took command of the top spot on lap four and led the rest of the way in the 20-lap event.

Todd Koegel won his second Pure Stock feature of the year last Saturday night. Russ Marsden, Phil Marsden, Dave Marcucilli and Chris Cunningham finished in positions second through fifth respectively. Koegel took the lead away from Marcucilli on lap six and led the rest of the distance in the 15-lap affair.

Ray Wilson claimed the win in the Four Cylinder Enduro feature last Saturday night. Sam Carista, Carrie Hollenbeck, Sam Curcie and Buddy Grant completed the top five finishers behind Wilson. A total of 21 cars started the event.

Racing will continue this Saturday at Fulton Speedway with the DIRT 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, Pro Stocks and Pure Stocks all in action on Family Autograph Night.
