SHEPPARD WINS SIXTH OF THE SEASON AT FUTLON
SPEEDWAY ON PARTS PLUS/B104.7 NIGHT

FULTON, NY...Fulton Speedway DIRT 358 Modified rookie driver Matt Sheppard returned to the winners circle last Saturday on Parts Plus/B104.7 Night. The 19 year-old driver from Waterloo, N.Y. passed Alan Johnson on lap 16 and went on to his sixth feature win of the season at the home of the Victoria 200. The win for the Paine Motorsports DIRT 358 Modified team was worth $1,500.

Dave Reilley raced out to the early lead at the start of the Parts Plus/B104.7 DIRT 358 Modified feature from the pole starting position. Reilley was running strong and after 10 laps he continued to lead the 26 car field. Ryan Baye, Alan Johnson, J.J. Michaels and Roy Shields completed the top five behind Reilley with 10 laps complete.

Baye took the top spot away from Reilley on lap 12. Baye only led one circuit as Johnson took over the top spot on lap 13. Johnson wasted no time in moving up from the 15th starting position to the lead in 13 laps. Johnson had company in moving through the field in the form of Sheppard. It was on lap 16 when Sheppard took the lead away from Johnson. Sheppard started in the 17th position.

Throughout the last half of the race both Johnson and Michaels remained in striking distance of Sheppard, but they could never make the pass. Sheppard recorded his sixth feature win of the season on the high banked. Johnson had to settle for another second place finish. Michaels had his best outing of the season and finished third. Baye and Sears completed the top five finishers in the competitive field.

Tim Sears won his sixth DIRT Sportsman feature race of the season last Saturday night. Sears passed Walt McArdell on the final lap for the thrilling win. McArdell had to settle for second with Shawn Donath, Bill Shantel Jr. and Clayton Brewer completing the top five feature finishers. The Sportsman feature race was by far the best event of the night with the race in doubt until the finish line.

Joe Stefanski won his first ever Fulton Speedway DIRT Pro Stock feature race last Saturday night. Stefanski won in a thrilling battle over John Pietrowicz, Paul Streiff, Jeremy Clark and Ricky Breed. Streiff led the opening five laps of the feature. T.J. Fitzgibbons led lap six. Stefanski took over on lap seven and led the rest of the 20 lap distance.

John Pietrowicz was the winner of the 15 lap Pure Stock feature race last Saturday night. Paul Mercier, Chris Cunningham, Bill Flask and John Morrison followed Pietrowicz across the finish line. Bill Allen led the first four laps of the main event before Pietrowicz took command on lap five.

Ray Bull was the winner of the 25 lap special ARDC Midget feature. Tim Dietz, Walt Stearly, Shawn Burke and Randy Mausteller completed the top five feature finishers in the 19 car starting field.

FULTON NOTES---The entire five division show was completed in three and a half hours...A total of 34 DIRT 358 Modifieds attempted to qualify for the main event...Fans were treated to several giveaways from Parts Plus and Wix Filters...The final Family Autogrpah Night of the season will take place this Saturday, August 3.
