Jim And Kim Bogett Poised To Take Ownership Of Pro Race Cars A Leading Mod Lite Builder

CAMILLUS, NY (February 17, 2013) – In March 2013, Camillus-based J&K Motorsports, owned by Jim and Kim Bogett, will complete the acquisition of Pro Race Cars, a manufacturer of mod lite dirt track race cars. Pro Race Cars, currently headquartered in Frederica, DE, have been a leading force in the mod lite industry since debuting the sports’ first cars in 2000.

Walt Breeding, the founder of Pro Race Cars, is considered the pioneer of the sport of mod lite racing. He built his first race car in 1965 and also built his first pro dwarf race car in 1993. “We’re thrilled Walt will remain an integral part of the Pro team as a technical service advisor and new car sales manager,” says Jim Bogett. Breeding will also continue as owner and operator of Team United Sanctioning Association (TUSA).

Jim Bogett has raced in several divisions of motorsports for 21 years, and is currently a driver in the mod lite division.

Pro Race Cars will move its headquarters to Camillus, NY, where the race cars will be assembled. Bicknell Racing Products will be the exclusive builder of all chassis and components. “We’re excited to be partnering with Bicknell, who brings the support of their extensive CNC machine shop and state of the art equipment for new and future designs,” says Bogett. Pro Race Cars also plans on expanding inventory, offering faster parts distribution and incorporating a more streamlined process from build to customer.

Plans to expand international outreach are also in development. Bogett plans to expand on the company’s current mission to tap into the Australian and British markets. The company is also excited about recent innovations like the new 2013 AFX and new DMI rear end package.
