BREWERTON, NY - August 13, 2012 - (By Dave Medler) - After making the decision a couple years ago to run weekly at the Fulton Speedway, Lansing NY driver Chuck Bower has knocked on the door many times to getting in victory lane on the "High Banks." After many top-fives, Bower not only knocked on the door to victory lane, he slammed it open with a convincing win Saturday night, August 11th.
Bower took the lead from early leader Brian Murphy on lap 9 of the 35 lap feature and then bolted out to a lead of over a straightaway till a caution flag with one lap to go. On the restart Bower had past 2012 feature winner Ryan Phelps on his back bumper for the one lap shootout. When the green came back out, Bower drove away from Phelps for his first ever popular win at the speedway.
For his performance Chuck Bower will receive $100 “NAPA Know How" Performer of The Week that is awarded weekly at both Brewerton and Fulton Speedways to one driver that outperforms all others that week across all classes.
The new NAPA Brewerton and Fulton Speedway Racer Discount Card are again in place. Each active speedway competitor will receive a NAPA card that will provide discounted pricing on most racing related purchases throughout the 2012 race season. Drivers will need to sign up with Speedway officials to be eligible for the program.
