Outlaw Weekend Sportsman Championship Information Announced

The 2011 Sunoco Fulton Ethanol Facility Outlaw Weekend SUNY Canton Sportsman Championship will feature a racer friendly set of rules, unless a driver plans on bringing an altered GM Crate Engine to the party. Teams planning to attend the Friday, September 30, 30-lap, $1,000-to-win event should be prepared for significant engine tech post event. Fulton’s tech officials plan to continue their stringent Crate engine tech through the track’s biggest sportsman event of the year.  

 

A great field of Sportsman competitors raced at Fulton Speedway over the course of the 2011 campaign. Nearly sixty different drivers attempted to qualify for at least one event at the high banks. Fulton’s Jeremy Pitcher was the Track Champion for the second consecutive year.

 

Specific rules for the Outlaw Weekend Sportsman Championship include:

 

1.    Aluminum or steel wheels allowed

2.    Cars with aluminum wheels must weigh a minimum of 2450 lb at the end of a race. Steel wheel cars may weigh 2400 lbs.

3.    Tires:               American Racers or Dirt Hoosiers are allowed:

American Racer compounds allowed are:

LF – 33                        RF – 33 or 38

LR – 33 or 38              RR – 44 or 48

4.    MSD Ignition Box is an optional item.

5.    No license required

6.    Pit passes are $30 for all drivers and crew-members

7.    No pre-entry required, but there will be a $20 fee to draw

8.    There will be a draw for heat starting position, with a redraw used to determine the top 12 feature starting order. 30 cars will start the feature event.

9.    One-way radio (454.000) and AMB transponders are required.

 

Pit gates open at 3pm, with hot laps set to hit the track at 6pm. The first heat is set for 7pm. The Go Nuclear! NAPA Late Model championship, ESDCA Mod Lites and a New York State Series event for IMCA Modifieds will also be featured, in addition to timed hot laps for Modifieds as they prepare for Saturday’s lucrative Outlaw 200.
