FULTON, NY - JUNE 15, 2013 (By Dave Medler) -&amp;nbsp; it&#39;s never over till the checker flag waves. Ryan Phelps proved that Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway in the 35 lap Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified feature. Phelps was able to run down and pass Robbie Bellinger&amp;nbsp; on lap 28 when the back of the field the bunched up making it tough&amp;nbsp;for Bellinger to get&amp;nbsp;by. Once out front, Phelps was able to put lapped cars between him and the rest of the field in the caution free race.
Other winners on K-ROCK Night were, Rocco Leone, SUNY Canton Sportsman, Rick Miller, NAPA Late Models, Gary Hoppins, E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman, Skip DeGroff, Four Cylinder Stocks, Barney Waldron, Kevin Winton &amp;amp; Steve Marks, Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club.
Robbie Bellinger got the jump on the field as he out hustled other front row starter Tim Schneider Jr. to lead the opening lap of the 35 lap Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified feature.
By lap 10, Bellinger was out front alone, while behind him, Roy Bresnahan, Dale Planck and Ryan Phelps were in a tight fight for second, third and fourth. Chad Phelps was some distance back in fifth.
With 15 laps showing on the lap counter, Bellinger was on rails out front, as he built-up a full straightaway lead. Planck and Phelps ran nose to tail and side by side running for second, while Bresnahan and Chad Phelps showed fourth and fifth.
When the starter showed the halfway sign, Bellinger started drawing in on the back of the field as Planck and Phelps would try to take advantage cutting into Bellinger&#39;s advantage.
With 10 laps to go, Bellinger was having a tough time putting cars a lap-down because they were racing two-three wide. This let Phelps, who moved into second two-laps before to catch Bellinger. Two- laps later ,Bellinger, running the top groove in four trying to lap cars, slipped&amp;nbsp; out the groove allowing Phelps to shoot by on lap 28.
Over the final laps, Phelps was able to put lapped cars between himself and the rest of the field to be the first&amp;nbsp; under the checkers in the caution free race. Last week&#39;s feature winner Dale planck came home second, followed by, Robbie Bellinger, Roy Bresnahan and Chad Phelps to complete the top-five.
After Phelps exited his, NAPA Auto Parts/Kinsella Quarries/Big Red Towing/ Tracey Road Equipment/Dave Miller Auto Body/ Bombadil&#39;s Tavern/Pizza Man Pub/No.99&amp;nbsp; he talked about the popular win.
&quot;We just had a real good setup tonight. I felt bad with the crew tonight, the track kept getting drier and I kept making them do stuff to it,&quot; Phelps said with a chuckle.&quot;I think they are all happy now as it paid off. It was good anywhere I wanted to go, the lapped cars got a little hairy there for a while waiting for them to move over. What are you going to do, they&#39;re racing too.&quot;
Phelps then talked about his battle for second place with Dale Planck and then his pass of Robbie Bellinger for the win.
&quot;Dale (Planck) raced me real clean. He was able to keep his momentum up there. I was real good on the bottom of one and two, I really needed to be up a lane in three and four, that&#39;s where he really tried to keep me down, he raced me real clean and I just got lucky and was able to slip in there.&quot;
&quot;Rob (Bellinger) looked like he got a little messed up with the lapped cars and I got to take advantage of it. And I got to him and I saw what he was dealing with. I saw him slip up just a little bit, I knew if I was going to get him I had to get him there. Who knows when you get into those lapped cars, you can get boxed in. I cleared him just enough and drove it hard into one and sealed it off. From there I don&#39;t know if it was close or not, but this thing was hooked up.&quot;
In the 20 lap SUNY Canton Sportsman feature, Rocco Leone and Beth Schneider&amp;nbsp; put on a show. Rocco Leone took the lead at the drop of the green and held off the field for his first ever feature win in the class.&amp;nbsp; Leone related it was a longtime coming after moving up to the class two and half years ago. Points leader Beth Schneider keeps knocking on the door to victory lane. Once again she came from deep in the field(15th) to score a strong second place finish. Behind Leone and Schneider were, Jim Spano, Chris Hulsizer and Gregg Kimball to round out the top-five.
Rick Miller is now two for two in the win department in the NAPA Late Models. Once again the Late Models put on a great show. Miller took the lead from Alan Fink on lap 3 and led the rest of the way in the 20 lap feature. The win was anything but easy for miller. First he had to hold-off constant pressure from Fink till lap 18 when Fink appeared to break his front end after contact with a lapped car. Over the last two laps Miller had to hold off Dale Caswell for his second win in a row. AJ Kingssley, Sean Beardsley and Alan Chapman finished third through fifth.
Gary Hoppins&amp;nbsp; was able to chase down race long leader Jeremy Dyget to take the lead on lap11 and then go on to the 15 lap E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman win. Jeremy Dygert, Brandon Kauhn, Ricky Yelle and Nick Rupert rounded out the top-five.
Skip DeGroff racked up another win in the 15 lap Four Cylinder Stock feature. Keith Zirbel, Mark Johnston, Justin Buske and Eric M Zirbel chased DeGroff across the line.
The Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club made their yearly visit to the &quot;High Banks.&quot; Barney Waldron, Kevin Winton and Steve Marks picked up feature wins in their divisions.
In a special Fathers Day Race the winners were, Dayne Cory, Four Cylinder Stocks, Randy Coit Late Models and Harry Murphy, Sportsman.

    <description>FULTON, NY &amp;ndash; JUNE 11, 2013 (By Dave Medler) - After his SUNY Canton Sportsman feature win on June 8, 2013, Ron Davis III&amp;rsquo;s GM &amp;nbsp;Crate engine was removed from his car and taken to the LJL/Kevlar engine shop for closer inspection to ensure it was legal by Fulton Speedway&amp;rsquo;s engine rules. <title>Dale Planck Drives Wight Team Car To Fulton Speedway Modified Victory Lane</title>
    <link>http://www.fultonspeedway.com/Home/tabid/158/ctl/ArticleView/mid/647/articleId/811/Dale-Planck-Drives-Wight-Team-Car-To-Fulton-Speedway-Modified-Victory-Lane.aspx</link>
    <description>FULTON, NY - JUNE 8,2013(By Dave Medler) - It had been since May 21, 2011 since Dale Planck had been to Fulton Speedway victory lane. Saturday night, Planck jumped behind the wheel of a team car (No.99L) of Larry Wight and put on a driving clinic in a convincing win in the 35 lap Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified feature.
Other winners were, Ron Davis III, SUNY Canton Sportsman, Rick Miller, NAPA Late Models, Hilary Ward, E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman and Chuck Powelczyk, Four Cylinder Stocks.
Before a lap was complete in the Modified feature in turn four, pole sitter Joe August Jr. got upside down causing a red flag period. Joe was uninjured. On the second attempt to get the 35 lap feature underway, Tim Sears Jr. bolted out to a narrow lead over Dale Planck.
With 5 laps complete, Sears still set the pace with a two-car advantage over Planck, just behind the top-two, Chris Hile, Ryan Phelps and Roy Bresnahan raced for third through fifth.
On lap 10 Sears still led, but was now getting pressure from Planck. Just one lap later, Sears looked to have jumped the cushion allowing Planck to drive by to be scored the new leader on lap 11.
At the halfway point, Planck was on cruise control building up a three-quarters of a straightaway lead over Chris Hile. Ryan Phelps and Larry Wight were in a tight battle for third with Bresnahan showing in fifth.
With 10 laps to go, Planck appeared to be getting quicker as he built up an almost 4 second lead over the rest of the field. Hile and Larry Wight battled for second, with Ryan Phelps and Bresnahan showing on the scoring tower in the top-five.
On lap 31 Wight moved into the runner-up spot and needed a yellow to have any shot at Planck. No yellows would happen as Planck cruised the rest of the way to the win. Larry Wight, Chris Hile, Ryan Phelps and Roy Bresnahan finished second through fifth.
In the 20 lap SUNY Canton Sportsman feature, Ron Davis III would take the lead on a lap 9 restart and never look back for his second &amp;nbsp;victory of the 2013 season. Kyle Fink, Justin Crisafulli, Matt Emmons and Jordan Bennett would round out the top-five.
After coming so close to a win this season in the NAPA Late Models, Rick Miller finally put his car in victory lane for the popular win. Miller outran teammate Shayne Tenace , AJ Kingsley, Dale Caswell and Harry Halliday.
The loudest victory lane of the night came for E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman driver Hilary Ward. Ward who is fighting intense abdominal pain before surgery this coming Monday &amp;nbsp;on her gallbladder, not only found a way to race, but pick-up her first ever win. Ward took the lead on lap 11 when then leader Taylor Lamb broke. Then Ward survived a late yellow to be the first under the checkers. Wade Chrisman, Gary Hoppins, Jason Caldwell and Jeremy Dygert&amp;nbsp; chased Ward across the line.
It doesn&#39;t matter where Chuck Powelczyk races, Brewerton or now Fulton as he finds a way to victory lane in the Four Cylinder Stocks. The win Saturday night was anything but easy, as he narrowly beat Wendall Washington. Mark Johnston, Eric Zirbel and John West finished third through fifth.
This coming Saturday, June 15th, K-ROCK 100.9 presents a night of exciting racing on the Fulton Speedway &quot;High Banks.&quot; On the race card will be the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman, Four Cylinder Stocks plus a visit from the Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club. <title>Racing Returns To The Fulton Speedway This Saturday, June 8th; SUNY Canton Sportsman Pit Crews Take Center Stage</title>
    <link>http://www.fultonspeedway.com/Home/tabid/158/ctl/ArticleView/mid/647/articleId/805/Racing-Returns-To-The-Fulton-Speedway-This-Saturday-June-8th-SUNY-Canton-Sportsman-Pit-Crews-Take-Center-Stage.aspx</link>
    <description>FULTON, NY - JUNE 4, 2013 (By Dave Medler) - The management of the Fulton Speedway would like to thank all of the loyal race fans and race teams for sticking around last Saturday night, June 1st, under less than ideal conditions when mother nature tried her best to end the night after qualifying. After the rain delay the track crew got to work providing a fast racing surface that put on great feature racing for the fans and racers.
This coming Saturday will see a full night of racing featuring the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman and Four Cylinder Stocks.
SUNY Canton Sportsman crews sharpen your skills during the week as you will be having a Pit-Stop competition.
What can be said about fan favorite Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified driver Pat Ward and his toughness. Last Tuesday Ward had his appendix removed and Saturday night he drivers to victory lane.
With his win, the second of the season, Ward leads the points by 34 over teammate Larry Wight and Tom Sears Jr..Dan Vauter and Ryan Phelps are in the hunt showing fourth and fifth in the standings.
A first time winner landed in victory lane in the SUNY Canton Sportsman when Justin Crisafulli held off a late challenge from Jason Occhino, who also won his first feature earlier this season.
Looking at the Sportsman point standings who have yet to have a repeat winner, Beth Schneider has a 20 point edge over Tony Finch II. Weekly Schneider comes from deep in the pack racking up top-five finishes.
In the NAPA Late Models, Alan Fink&#39;s three-race win streak was stopped. Dale Caswell put on a driving clinic in the 20 lap feature winning by almost a half a track over the rest of the field.
Fink still sits atop the standings with a 16 point lead over Caswell. Sean Beardsley, Rick Miller and Dustin Hanlon are third through fifth in the points. As tight as the racing has been in 2013 nothing is ever a sure thing for the rest of the season.
After a couple weeks not up to his standards, Gary Hoppins returned to victory lane last Saturday in the E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman. Hoppins holds onto a slim 16 point lead over Jeremy Dygert. This class might be considered a beginners class for open wheel cars, but there features have been very exciting in 2013.
It finally happened last week, Skip DeGroff was beaten in the Four Cylinder Stocks. Eric M Zirbel who has come close to victory lane this season finally put it all together holding of DeGroff for his first win of 2013.
Gates will open Saturday at 5:00 with racing at 7:00. Adult grandstand admission will be $12 with everyone 18 yrs old and younger admitted FREE. Pit admission is $25 Members/$30 Non-Members.

    <title>Surgery On Tuesday To Victory Lane On Saturday For Pat Ward In The Modifieds At The Fulton Speedway</title>
    <link>http://www.fultonspeedway.com/Home/tabid/158/ctl/ArticleView/mid/647/articleId/802/Surgery-On-Tuesday-To-Victory-Lane-On-Saturday-For-Pat-Ward-In-The-Modifieds-At-The-Fulton-Speedway.aspx</link>
    <description>FULTON, NY - JUNE 1,2013 (By Dave Medler) - Mother nature threw her best punches Saturday night when the skies opened up causing an over an hour rain delay. Instead of throwing in the towel, the Fulton Speedway track crew got to work providing a fast track surface for the nights features.
&amp;nbsp;&quot;I can be in pain at home on the couch, or be in pain in the race car, I&#39;ll take the race car,&quot; said Pat Ward after undergoing an appendectomy this past Tuesday after falling ill Monday at the Utica-Rome Speedway. Ward gave himself the best medicine in the world, as he picked up the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified feature win Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway.
Other winners on Oswego County Today.Com/The Effect Group Night were, Justin Crisafulli, SUNY Canton Sportsman, Dale Caswell, NAPA Late Models, Gary Hoppins, E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman, Eric M Zirbel, Four Cylinder Stocks and Doug Williams Mod Lites.
Matt Hulsizer would grab the early lead to start the 35 lap Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified feature on a tacky and quick racing surface.
With 5 laps complete, Hulsizer would hold a narrow lead over Kane, Chuck Bower and Tim Sears Jr. with Ryan Phelps right there in fifth.
The first yellow would fly on lap 7 for Tom Sears Jr. who stopped on the top of turn two. That gave &amp;nbsp;the field a chance to catch their breath, as there were two and three-wide battles around the speedway.
On lap 10, using the cushion, Tim Sears Jr. would be scored the new leader by inches over Hulsizer at the line.
With 15 laps showing on the scoring tower, Sears, Hulsizer and Bower were in a three-car breakaway, as they raced nose to tail and side by side at the front of the field. Coming quick behind the top-three was Pat Ward who would soon make it a four-car fight for the top-spot.
At the halfway point, Sears was still setting the pace, but couldn&#39;t put any distance between himself and Hulsizer and Bower. Ward and Chris Hile showed in the top-five.
Rob Bellinger and Larry Wight would be involved in an incident on the back straightaway bringing out the yellow on lap 24.
When the green came back out, Sears appeared to jump the cushion exiting turn four, that allowed Hulsizer, Bower, Ward and Billy Decker to shoot by. Just before another yellow, Ward, through sure horsepower went from fourth and into the lead. The caution was for Sears who appeared to be hit hard by debris. Sears luckily would climb from his car under his own power.
Over the closing laps, Ward was a man on a mission, as he was able to outrun Billy Decker who moved into second but could get no closer than a few car lengths at the checkers. Chuck Bower, Matt Hulsizer and Dan Vauter finished third through fifth.
After slowly exiting his Gypsum Express/Stadium International Trucks/Gypsum Wholesalers/ LJL Kevlar Racing Engines/No.42p/Bicknell, a sore but happy Pat Ward talked about his second win of the year on the Fulton Speedway, &quot;High Banks.&quot;
&quot;It&#39;s been a tough week. This crew of mine, I couldn&#39;t touch the car all week,&quot; as Ward was trying to recover from surgery just a few days earlier, &quot;Terry came in with me Friday morning, and I got to thank Rob (Hile) Scott (Jeffrey) from the other two crews, they stripped the car and washed it for me. I got the best team you could ever have.&quot;
&quot;This car the last three weeks has been super. I&#39;m pretty much junk everywhere else, but here I&#39;m really good.&quot;
&amp;nbsp;Ward related how a yellow helped him shoot from fourth and into the lead on a restart, &quot;We were coming on strong. We didn&#39;t have enough gear at the start, but we were slowly coming up through. I don&#39;t know what happened to Tim (Sears Jr.) I hope he&#39;s alright, he was running a heck of a race. When he broke the middle groove was pretty much locked down, and that was pretty much the end of the race right there.&quot;
&quot;All the people who called me and texted me this week was pretty unbelievable. I have to thank everybody for that. I was so sore I was hoping it was going to rain out (one hour rain delay) but now I&#39;m glad it didn&#39;t.&quot;
In the 20 lap SUNY Canton Sportsman feature, a new name would grace victory lane for a first time winner. Justin Crisafulli would take the lead at the drop of the green and lead every lap, but the win was anything but easy. Crisafulli would have to hold off former feature winner Jason Occhino on the last lap for the narrow win. Greg Mrzywka, points leader Beth Schneider and Nick Krause finished third through fifth.
&quot;I only burped the throttle,&quot; was what Dale Caswell said about his dominate win, as he was almost wide open around the Fulton Speedway. At the checkers Caswell was almost a half a track ahead of the field, ending Alan Fink&#39;s win streak in the NAPA Late Models. Sean Beardsley, Alan Fink, Dustin Hanlon and Shayne Tenace came home second through fifth.
In the 15 lap E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman feature, Gary Hoppins went from third to the lead&amp;nbsp; on lap 4 and then never looked back picking up another win for the defending champion. Early leader Wade Chrisman, Taylor Lamb, Dan Hoffmann and Jeremy Dygert rounded out the top-five.
The undefeated streak for Skip DeGroff is finally over in the Four Cylinder Stocks. Eric M Zirbel, who has been strong all season only to have something happen to his No.26, picked up the hard fought win over DeGroff and Mark Johnston.
The Mod Lites made an appearance Saturday night. In the 15 lap feature, Lowell Zehr first held off Justin Williams and then battled with Justin&#39;s dad Doug. In one of the most entertaining passes for the lead, Doug Williams waved at Zehr as he took the lead on the last lap and the win.
This coming Saturday night, June 8th, it will be another night &amp;nbsp;of high speed, family fun entertainment. On the race card will be the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman and Four Cylinder Stocks.
Sportsman crew members will take center stage as they will be involved in a pit-stop competition on the front straightaway.
Gates will open at 5:00 with racing at 7:00. Adult grandstand admission will be $12 with everyone 18 yrs old and younger admitted FREE to the grandstands. Pit admission will be $25 Members/$30 Non-Members.

    <description>
FULTON, NY - MAY 29, 2013(By Dave Medler) - Oswego County Today.Com and The Effect Group, Inc. is proud to present a night of fast, family fun filled racing this Saturday night, June 1st at the Fulton Speedway, highlighted by the fan favorite Family Autograph Night.
Family autograph Night is one of the most popular events on the race calendar for fans and drivers alike. It&#39;s a chance for young and old alike to head track side to get up close to all the racing equipment and meet all the drivers for autographs and driver giveaways.
On the race card will be the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman, Four Cylinder Super Stocks and Mod Lites.
Last Saturday night the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds put on a barnburner of a feature that had two and three-wide battles for the lead that saw Larry Wight make a late race pass for the win, his second of the young season.
In the SUNY Canton Sportsman, Tony Finch II picked up his first ever feature win.. After his win, Finch, a high school student, finds himself second in the point standings, only 8 behind point leader Beth Schneider. Schneider had a scare Monday at the Utica-Rome Speedway blowing the power plant in her Thompson Road Tavern/No.1s. Schneider has related that she will be back in action Saturday, as a new motor is being put between the rails of her potent car.
If the goal for the E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman is to give driver&#39;s seat time and experience before moving up to the SUNY Canton Sportsman it seems to be working. Last Saturday, former Mod Lite driver Ricky Yelle and Jeremy Dygert battled throughout most of the 15 lap feature. Exiting turn four on the final lap Dygert found just enough room down low to win the drag race down the front straight to be the first under the checkers.
Should they be looking to rename the Four Cylinder Stocks the Skip DeGroff Stocks? Even though the wins haven&#39;t been easy, DeGroff is undefeated in the division after his victory last week.

    <title>Larry Wight Makes Late Charge To Victory Lane In The Modifieds At The Fulton Speedway; Finch II, Fink, Dygert And DeGroff Also Winners</title>

    <description>FULTON, NY - MAY 25,2013 (By Dave Medler) - As the old saying goes, &quot;It aint over till it&#39;s over,&quot; held true Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway in the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds. Chuck Bower looked like he was going to overcome early season bad luck and romp to the win. Late in the race the front runners were able to run down Bower setting up an exciting finish. On lap 32, Larry Wight was able to use a back marker as a pick and drive by Bower and then drive away for the 35 lap victory.
Other winners on SUNY Canton night were, Tony Finch II, SUNY Canton Sportsman, Alan Fink, NAPA Late Models, Jeremy Dygert, E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman and Skip DeGroff, Four Cylinder Stocks.
Tim Schneider Jr. would lead the opening lap of the 35 lap Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified feature, but on the second go-round Matt Hulsizer using the top of the speedway would blast into the top-spot.
With 5 laps complete, Hulsizer still ran the high side as he held a slight advantage over the hard charging Chuck Bower. Katelyn Kane, Schneider and Jim Witko raced for third through fifth behind the top-two.
After dogging Hulsizer, Bower who looked to put early season woes behind him muscled the lead away on lap 10 and looked to run away and hide from the field.
With 15 laps showing on the scoring tower, Bower opened about a dozen car length lead over Hulsizer, Tom Sears Jr. ran alone in third with Dan Vauter and Larry Wight showing in the top-five.
At the halfway point, Bower was on rails as he ran out to a half a straightaway lead over Hulsizer. Sears, Vauter and Wight were still chasing the top-two as they started to gain some ground.
With 10 laps to go Bower still had a large lead but it appeared his car was starting to go away. Sears and Wight caught Hulsizer as they were in a tight fight for second, third and fourth.
As the laps clicked off, a tight nose to tail and side by battle was on for the lead for the front runners. On lap 32 Wight used a back marker as a pick as he was able to muscle by Bower to be scored the new leader with 3 laps to go. Once in the lead Wight was able to drive away for the win. Last week&#39;s winner, Pat Ward, Tom Sears Jr., Chuck Bower and Matt Hulsizer rounded out the top-five in the exciting finish.
After Wight climbed out of his Gypsum Express/Tracey Road Equipment/NAPA Auto Parts/Stadium International Trucks/L J L-Kevlar Racing Engines/Industrial Tire Of CNY/ No.99L/Bicknell/ he talked about the tight fight at the front of the pack and the pass for his second Fulton win of 2013.
&quot;It was a little choppy down there,&quot; Wight said about running the bottom. &quot;We pulled about 20 points to much gear out of it. I got afraid at the start, &amp;nbsp;we started rolling on the top, but we didn&#39;t seem to keep up with Tom (Sears) and everybody. As soon as we went to the bottom we seemed to be the only ones who could stick right around the (uke) tires.&quot;
Wight then spoke about the pass for the lead and the win.&quot;I saw Chuck (Bower) was kind of struggling in the middle trying to get around the No.63. Luckily the No.63 slowed up just enough for us to get by both of them.&quot;
Brandon Ford got the early jump to lead the 20 lap SUNY Canton Sportsman feature. By lap 5 Ford still led with his father Scott Ford giving chase. Just behind the top-two, Greg Mrzywka, Nick Krause and Joe Kline showed third through fifth.
At the halfway point, Brandon Ford still led the way as Mrzywka and Scott Ford ran side by side for second about three car behind the leader. Krause and Kline still fought for top-five spots.
After running the top of the speedway, Mrzywka switched to the bottom and drove by Ford and into the lead on lap 14. Over the remaining laps and no yellows to bunch up the field, Mrzywka drove away to be the first under the checkers. Tony Finch II made a late charge for second with Brandon Ford, Scott Ford and Beth Schneider who made another run from deep in the field completed the top-five.
When the cars went over the scales, apparent winner Mrzywka was light, handing the win to Tony Finch II. For Finch, a 16 yr old high school student it was his first Fulton SUNY Canton Sportsman win.
Alan Fink made it three wins in a row in the another highly competitive NAPA Late Model feature. Fink was able to get by Rick Miller who led since lap 3, on lap 16 for the 20 lap win. Dale Caswell, AJ Kingsley and Dustin Hanlon finished third through fifth.
The E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman feature came down to the last lap, last corner pass. Jeremy Dygert played the waiting game as he hounded Ricky Yelle virtually the entire race. Coming out of turn four heading to the checkers, Yelle left just enough room for Dygert to get by for the exciting win. Taylor Lamb who was also part of the lead battle finished third, with Gary Hoppins and Wade Chrisman rounding out the top-five.
Skip DeGroff remained undefeated in the Four Cylinder Stocks. DeGroff took the lead from Eric Zirbel on lap 11 and then was the first under the checkers. Mark Johnston, Wendall Washington, Eric Zirbel and Matt Dawson rounded out the top-five.

    <title>SUNY Canton Presents A Night Of Exciting Racing This Saturday May 25 At The Fulton Speedway; One-On-One-Spectator Racing Part Of The Action</title>

    <description>FULTON, NY - MAY 21,2013 (By Dave Medler) - &amp;nbsp;SUNY Canton one of the long time supporters of the Fulton Speedway and title sponsor of the Sportsman division is proud to present a night of high speed, side by side racing this Saturday, May 25th on the &quot;High Banks&quot; of the Fulton Speedway.
SUNY Canton has been long known as one of the top schools in the State Universities of New York system of schools, but in all of the Northeast. What SUNY Canton has to offer is a family atmosphere and class sizes that allows all professors and instructors to know their students on a one to one basis. What they have to offer is too numerous to mention here so please visit http://www.canton.edu/ to see all the opportunities they have. As they say at SUNY Canton, &quot;Great Majors, Great Careers.&quot; &amp;nbsp;As always please support those who support racing.
On the race card this Saturday will be the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman and Four Cylinder Stocks.
Have you always wanted to challenge the &quot;High Banks&quot; of the Fulton Speedway? This Saturday will be your chance as the One-On-One Spectator Races are part of the nights action. All you need to hit the track is your registered &amp;amp; insured street vehicle, a valid driver&#39;s license and a D.O.T approved helmet. &amp;nbsp;When you get to the track head to the track office behind the main grandstands to signup.
Last Saturday night was both joy and relief for Pat Ward as he won the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified feature. Friday night at the Brewerton Speedway Ward saw one slip away on the last lap when the second place runner who lost his brakes got into Ward taking both out of contention for the win. Ward stated after his Fulton win that 2013 hasn&#39;t been up to his or his teams standards and it felt like a huge weight was lifted off their shoulders.
Is there anything better than a first time winner and the excitement they show in victory lane? Jason Occhino after a longtime of disappointment put it all together picking up his first ever SUNY Canton Sportsman feature win in front of a cheering grandstand.
Once again the NAPA Late Models put on a great feature that saw Alan Fink win his second in a row. In victory lane, an emotional Fink dedicated his win to one of the legends in racing, his grandfather &quot;Irish&quot; Jack Murphy who recently passed away. If you haven&#39;t seen the NAPA Late Models, you owe it to yourself to check them out.
As the weeks click off and the driving skills in the E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman improve by leaps and bounds, it was &amp;nbsp;Jeremy Dygert&amp;nbsp; who parked his sharpNo.22 in victory lane.
Can anyone beat Skip DeGroff in the Four Cylinder Stocks? As of last Saturday nights racing DeGroff is undefeated in 2013.
Adult grandstand admission will be $12 with everyone 18 yrs old and younger admitted FREE to the grandstands. Pit admission is $25 members/ $30 non-members. Gates will open at 5 with racing at 7.

    <title>Redemption Is Sweet For Pat Ward At The Fulton Speedway</title>

    <description>FULTON, NY - MAY 18,2012 (By Dave Medler) - By Pat Ward&#39;s standards 2013 hasn&#39;t gotten off to the start he wanted. On top of that, on Friday night at the Brewerton Speedway, Ward had the fastest car and in the lead on the final lap when second place Ryan Bartlett who lost his brakes, got into Ward taking both out of contention for the win.
On Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway, Ward put it altogether and got the monkey off his back, as he outran teammates Billy Decker and Larry Wight for hugely popular win in the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds.
Other winners on Syracuse haulers night were, Jason Occhino, SUNY Canton Sportsman (First Career Win) Alan Fink, NAPA Late Models, Jeremy Dygert, E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman and Skip DeGroff, Four Cylinder Stocks.
At the start of the 35 lap Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified feature, Dale Planck got the jump on Tim Schneider and the rest of the field to lead the opening lap. Planck&#39;s lead was short lived as one lap later Adam Roberts was able to shoot by Planck on lap 2.
On lap 4 disaster was avoided when Robbie Bellinger and another car made contact on the front straight, sending Bellinger into the wall. After the contact, Bellinger shot across the track and into the infield, and somehow was missed by the cars behind him, namely Dan Vauter at speed missed Bellinger by inches.
When the green came back out, Planck went back into the lead while behind him the field scrambled for position.
With 10 laps complete, Planck was still running the top and held a narrow lead over Jim Witko and Larry Wight. Behind the top-two, Roberts and Pat Ward ran in the top-five.
On lap 13, the battle was tight up front&amp;nbsp; with Planck, Witko and Wight, as they used every inch of the speedway looking for an advantage. Just one lap later, Witko was able to get by Planck to be scored the new leader. Even Witko&#39;s lead was short lived as Wight dug on the extreme bottom to shoot into the lead on lap 15.
At the halfway point, Wight was still locked on the bottom as he led by about five-car lengths over Witko with Ward closing quick as the laps clicked off.
On lap 20, Ward grabbed second using the top of the speedway as he now took off after teammate Wight. Just two laps later Wight and Ward exited turn four as they closed quickly on Katelyn Kane. Ward was able to trap Wight behind the Kane car to get by Wight and be scored the new leader just before a caution.
With 10 laps to go it looked like Ward was shot out of a cannon as he bolted out to a half a straightaway lead, leaving Billy Decker, Wight, Chad Phelps and Ryan Phelps to fight it out for top-five finishing spots.
Over the remaining laps and no yellows to tighten the field up, Ward ran away and hid to be the first under the checkers. Decker, Wight, Ryan Phelps and Chad Phelps finished second through fifth.
After getting out of his Gypsum Express/Gypsum Wholesalers/ Stadium International Trucks /L J L Kevlar Racing Engines/ No.42p/Bicknell a relieved and excited Pat Ward talked about his win.
&quot;We&#39;ve been getting closer and closer, working our tails off,It&#39;s obvious how bad we&#39;ve been running, fifteenth, sixteenth, seventeenth. We&#39;re up against a real tough field of cars everywhere we go. There is no excuse to run like that with the equipment John, Laura and Larry (Wight) give me. There has been a lot on my mind and I want to dedicate this win to my dad and mom that are not here tonight. I miss them a lot at the track, this is a good way to get going.&quot;
Ward looked back on the heartbreak the night before at Brewerton. &quot;Ryan (Bartlett) had the car to beat till he lost his brakes. Unfortunately he used my car as his brakes going into one on the last lap, we had that race won. Stuff like that happens unfortunately. Some days your the bug, some days you&#39;re the windshield. We&#39;ve been the bug a lot lately&quot;
Ward finished up what a fun race it was to run and win. &quot;It&#39;s a lot of fun when your racing your teammates, Larry (Wight) and Billy (Decker) you know they are going to give you their best shot. Larry gave me the top one time. We were good in three and four, he was probably better up at this end. We kept our momentum up and it&#39;s just good fun racing. The competition here is second to none. When you win here you know you&#39;ve done something.&quot;
In the 20 lap SUNY Canton Sportsman, another driver got a huge weight lifted off his back. Jason Occhino took the lead on lap 5 and never looked back. Even with a late yellow, Occhino didn&#39;t flinch out distancing the tough field for his first ever win. Chris Hulsizer, Beth Schneider who came from deep in the field, early leader Greg Mrzywka and Joe Kline rounded out the top-five.
Occhino related that he wanted to give up so many times with the bad luck he has had the last couple years fixing the car. He said he has great help but came in every week with their heads hung low and figured he wasn&#39;t getting done as a driver. This year he and his team decided even if they had to bring it back on wrecker they were going to be more aggressive and it paid off.
The NAPA Late Models once again put on an highly competitive feature where the top-runners all had a shot at the win. Alan Fink took the lead from Rick Miller late in the going to score his second win in a row. Miller, Sean Beardsley, AJ Kingsley and Dale Caswell rounded out the top-five.
An emotional Alan Fink dedicated the win to one of the all-time great racers, his grandfather &quot;Irish Jack Murphy&quot; who passed away recently.
In the 15 lap E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman feature, Jeremy Dygert took the lead on lap 2 and never looked back. Shannon Pitcher in his first competitive race was impressive finishing second. Gary Hoppins, Jacob Davis and Nick Rupert finished third through fifth.
Eric M Zirbel led the first few laps of the 15 lap Four Cylinder Stock feature before Skip DeGroff took over the lead and the win. DeGroff is undefeated in features in 2013. Zirbel, John West, Sam Carissta and Donald Rowe completed the top-five.

Last Saturday night, Chad Phelps beat the heavy hitters for a popular win in the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds. Looking at the point standings, Fulton newcomer Rob Bellinger is tied atop the standings with veteran and former track champion Billy Decker.
High School student Ronnie Davis III showed the savvy of a driver with more years on the speedway than he has, as Davis came from deep in the field to grab his second Fulton victory in the SUNY Canton Sportsman. With his win he is tied in the points lead with 2012 track champion Jordan Bennett.
The NAPA Late Models impressed once again as the front of the field ran nose to tail and side by side virtually the entire 20 lap distance that saw Alan Fink grab the checkers. A look at the points sees week one winner Sean Beardsley with a four-point lead over Alan Fink with Dale Caswell just eight-points behind.
Defending E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman champion Gary Hoppins grabbed his second straight win of the year. Former Mod Lite driver Ricky Yelle, gave Hoppins all he could handle finishing a close second.
In the Four Cylinder Stocks Eric Zirbel looked to be heading to a win, but a front flat with just two-laps to gave the lead and the win to track Champion Skip DeGroff.

    <title>Chad Phelps Puts It All Together Winning The Fulton Speedway Modified Feature</title>
    <link>http://www.fultonspeedway.com/Home/tabid/158/ctl/ArticleView/mid/647/articleId/777/Chad-Phelps-Puts-It-All-Together-Winning-The-Fulton-Speedway-Modified-Feature.aspx</link>
    <description>FULTON, NY - MAY 11, 2013 (By Dave Medler) - During the week Chad Phelps made a call to Billy Colton at Troyer looking for advice on car setup. That advice paid off as Phelps took the big 35 lap Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified win on Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway. On lap17, Phelps shot from third to the lead, and then outran Robbie Bellinger in the late stages for the popular win.
Other winners on WOLF 105.1 New Country night were, Ron Davis III, SUNY Canton Sportsman, Alan Fink, NAPA Late Models, Gary Hoppins, E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman, Skip DeGroff, Four Cylinder Stocks and Jeff Isabell Jr., Mod Lites.
Dale Planck and Joe August Jr. brought the hungry Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified feature down to the green with Planck grabbing the top-spot in the 35 lap main.
On lap 5, Planck running the bottom held a slight lead over August who was running the top of the speedway. Within striking distance of the top-two was Jim Witko and Chad Phelps making it a good four-car battle at the front.
One lap later on lap 6, August, who didn&#39;t even know if he&#39;d be back at the speedway after engine problems the week before powered by Planck to be scored the new leader. Between lap 6 and lap 8 August and Planck would swap the lead back and forth till August could open a few car length advantage.
With 10 laps showing on the scoring tower you could of almost thrown a blanket over August, Planck, Witko and Chris Hile as they used every inch of the speedway looking for any advantage.
The whole complexion of the race changed on the lap 17 when Chad Phelps found wicked bite on the bottom of the speedway blasting from third and into the lead.
A quick caution on lap 21 gave the field a chance to catch their breath after hot battles all over the speedway. The restart would line up Phelps, August, Chuck Bower, Planck, Hile, Witko, Billy Decker and Rob Bellinger.
With 10 laps to go Phelps held onto a four-car advantage over Bower while August, Hile and Bellinger were in a tight fight for third through fifth. Over the remaining laps Phelps looked to get quicker as he pulled away for the win by a half-a-straightaway over Bellinger. Hile, Dan Vauter who came on late and Billy Decker rounded out the top-five.
After Phelps pulled his Haun Welding Supply/ Midstate Tree Service/ Ashley Lynn Winery/ Troyer/ No.X in victory lane he talked about his win.
&quot; It was unbelievable. I got to give hats off to Billy Colton (Troyer Race Cars), we were complete junk last week with this new car so we threw some stuff at it, let me tell you, it was way better than it was. I&#39;m not like the professionals, sometimes we&#39;re second rate as I sometimes like to say. The track had a lot of bite and that helped. We have it pointed in the right direction and we were able to hold them off.&quot;
&quot;I don&#39;t know how close those guys were, we had a decent starting spot that helped. You got to get that with these guys, it&#39;s such a tough group we run with every week. It feels good to get this out of the way. Hopefully we did the right thing and are now going in the right direction.&quot;
Chris Hile received the first American Racer Tire giveaway of the season for the Modifieds.
In the 20 lap SUNY Canton Sportsman feature, Gregg Kimball would lead the opening laps. The fastest car on the track was that of Ronnie Davis III who would dog Kimball for a number of laps before he used an outside power move to grab the lead on lap 9. Once out front, and as the laps clicked off nobody had anything for Davis as he drove away for the win. Gregg Kimball held onto second, Fonda Speedway invader Rocky Warner grabbed third, Jordan Bennett over came heat race problems to finish fourth and Tony Finch II finished fifth.
Beth Schneider received the first American Racer Tire give away for the season in the Sportsman.
For the second week in a row the NAPA Late Models put on an impressive show at the front of the pack in their 20 lap feature. Alan Fink took the lead on lap 11 and then held off opening night winner Sean Beardsley, Dale Caswell, AJ Kingsley and Rick Miller at the finish.
Gary Hoppins picked up his second win in a row in the 15 lap E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman feature. The win was anything but easy for Hoppins as he had to hold off repeated challenges from former Mod Lite driver Ricky Yelle. Jeremy Dygert, Kyle Kiehn and Jacob Davis finished third through fifth.
Eric Zirbel looked to heading to the win in the 15 lap Four Cylinder Stock feature. With just two laps to go, Zirbel had a front flat ending his bid for the victory handing the lead over to Skip DeGroff, who went onto to his second win of the early season. Mark Johnston, Blake Fisher, Keith Zirbel and Justin Buske rounded out the top-five.
In the 20 lap Mod Lite feature, Joe Isabell and Jeff Isabell Jr. swapped the lead back and forth in the late going with Jeff Isabell Jr. picking up the win. What made the win impressive was Isabell started dead last after heat race problems. Joe Isabell, Doug Williams, Jeremy Isabell and Alan Fink finished second through fifth.
This coming Saturday night May 18th the Fulton Speedway will swing back into action with another exciting night of racing presented by Syracuse Haulers. On the race card will be the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman and Four Cylinder Stocks.

    <description>BREWERTON, NY - MAY 9, 2013 (By Dave Medler) - Racing and pets just seem to go together, it doesn&#39;t matter if you&#39;re a fan, driver, team owner, promoter or track owner. Just look around a race track, on peoples&#39; Facebook pages and chances are you will see peoples&#39; pets. They are more than just pets to us, they are family members.
Not all animals are so lucky as they are abandoned, given up for financial reasons&amp;nbsp; and other very sad stories. That&#39;s why organizations like the Humane Association of CNY located in Liverpool, NY, &amp;nbsp;play such a vital role in giving shelter, food and medical care but it comes with a cost. There are no big government grants to keep these places going, it&#39;s through fundraisers and the generosity of people like you.
The Brewerton and Fulton Speedways have seen the need and are proud to team with the Humane Society of CNY with two special nights. Brewerton Speedway will host the first night on Friday, May 17 with the Fulton Speedway hosting on Saturday June, 1st. &amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;
On the designated nights not only can you meet some of our fury friends prior to the night&#39;s racing, you can help in a variety of ways. They will be accepting monetary donations, gently used clean towels, blankets and comforters. There will also be a bin where you can give donations of canned cat and dog food. They suggest Friskies for cats and Pedigree for dogs as they try to stick to one brand as not to upset the animals&#39; stomachs. There will also be gift baskets for raffle with racing themes inside, gift certificates from local restaurants and even pet themed gift baskets for raffle.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;

    <title>Larry Wight Out Runs Teammate Billy Decker For Opening Night Fulton Speedway Modified Win</title>
    <link>http://www.fultonspeedway.com/Home/tabid/158/ctl/ArticleView/mid/647/articleId/764/Larry-Wight-Out-Runs-Teammate-Billy-Decker-For-Opening-Night-Fulton-Speedway-Modified-Win.aspx</link>
    <description>FULTON, NY - MAY 4,2013 - (By Dave Medler) -The Fulton Speedway opened the 2013 season with a flury . Larry Wight out ran teammate Billy Decker for a popular Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified win, while two other features were decided with last a lap pass and a win by .006 of a second.
Other winners on Ferris Industries Night were, Jordan Bennett, SUNY Canton Sportsman, Sean Beardsley, NAPA Late Models, Gary Hoppins, E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman and Skip Degroff, Four Cylinder Stocks.
Larry Wight and Tim Sears Jr. brought the field down to the green for the first Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified feature of the year, with Wight grabbing the early advantage.
On lap 3, Sears blasted around Wight using the top of the speedway. Sears lead was short lived as Wight was able to drive back by one lap later and was able to buildup a half a straightaway lead by lap 5.
With 10 laps showing on the lap counter, Wight was on rails bolting to a full straightaway advantage over Sears who ran alone in second. Behind the top-two, Chris Hile, Joe August Jr. and Matt Hulsizer raced for third through fifth.
On lap 15, Wight was like a man on mission showing more than a straightaway lead still running the outside. Sears, Hile, Billy Decker and August showed in the top-five just before August slowed and went pit-side with mechanical problems.
When the green came back out, Decker went from fourth to second in one move as he set his sights on the high flying Wight.
At the halfway point, Wight and Decker would run nose to tail and side by side on different points of the speedway as the pair took off from the rest of the field. Sears, Ryan Phelps and Robbie Bellinger&amp;nbsp; showed in the top-five.
On lap 20, Wight was able to open a ten car length advantage over Decker as back markers loomed ahead that would play a part in the race.
With the scoring tower showing 10 laps remaining, Wight and Decker ran within two-three cars of each other on the top as the track was getting wider and wider. Phelps, Sears and Bellinger&amp;nbsp; still fought for top-five positions.
Over the remaining laps Decker would throw everything he had at Wight, even taking the lead on the back straight in heavy traffic with 3 laps to go. Wight didn&#39;t flinch as he held his line and outdistance Decker to the checkers. Ryan Phelps, Robbie Bellinger and Tim Sears Jr. finished third through fifth.
Wight talked about his win after parking his Gypsum Express/Tracey Road Equipment/Stadium International Trucks/NAPA Auto Parts/Integra Racing Shocks/ LJLKevlar Racing Engines / No.99L/ Bicknell in victory lane.
&quot; I knew we were good enough on the top that he wasn&#39;t going to get us. It was just the lapped traffic that was hurting us a little bit,&quot; Wight said when Billy Decker briefly got by him with 3 laps to go.&quot;Towards the end of the race we were starting to lose fuel pressure and it started stumbling on me, we were lucky to make it to the end.&quot;
&quot;I thought the bottom might of been a little faster because the top was so far up. Timmer (Tim Sears) got by me, luckily he pushed the nose and I was able to get back by him. I knew we had a good enough car to hold everyone off.&quot;
Cornwall, Ontario invader Shane Pecore jumped out to the early lead in the 20 lap SUNY Canton Sportsman feature over a stout opening day field.
On lap 5, Pecore opened a 10 car length advantage over the field as Jordan Bennett, Rocco Leone and Ron Davis III gave chase with Earl Rudy running fifth.
At the halfway point, Pecore still showed the way, but Bennett erased the lead Pecore built up as he now started reeling in the leader. Leone, Davis and Scott Ford showed in the top-five.
With 5 laps to go Pecore and Bennett ran nose to tail and side by side setting up a shootout to the checkers. Over the remaining laps, Pecore would run the bottom to the middle groove while Bennett ran the top of the speedway. Exiting turn-four coming down for the final lap, Bennett, the defending track champion was able to blast by Pecore to grab the lead and go onto the win over Pecore.&amp;nbsp; Rocco Leone, Ron Davis III and Beth Schneider who came from deep in the pack finished third through fifth.
In the words of ESPN, &quot;instant Classic.&quot; that&#39;s exactly what the 20 lap NAPA Late Model feature was. Dale Caswell, Sean Beardsley, Alan Fink and Rick Miller put on a battle royal as all four drivers ran in a tight pack the majority of the distance putting the winner in doubt till the checkers. On the final lap exiting turn four, Beardsley was able to draw even with leader Caswell setting up a drag race to the finish that saw Beardsley win by .006 of a second over Caswell. Alan Fink, Rick Miller and AJ Kingsley rounded out the top-five.
Defending track champion Gary Hoppins was able to grab the win in the 15 lap E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman feature over former Mod Lite driver Ricky Yelle.
Skip DeGroff and Jerry Herbert battled nose to tail and side by side almost the entire Four Cylinder Stock 15 lap feature. At the checkers DeGroff, the defending track champion picked up the narrow win over Herbert. Mark Johnston, Keith Zirbel and Colby Herzog rounded out the top-five.
This coming Saturday, May 11th 105.1 The WOLF/WOSW 1300 presents the popular Girl Scouts Night. On the race card will be the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&amp;amp;V Energy Novice Sportsman, Four Cylinder Stocks and Mod Lites.
